8. I thought pinhole camera was too obvious so went with "needle camera" as a more likely expression for 500 BC. Classic case of overthinking.

The bottom horizontal courses are probably universal worldwide, at least they are in the farm country of upstate New York. This is the first time i've seen the top cap course stacked vertically like that.

That's a good crop, I like it for composition. But have you also tried a horizontal composition with more open space in front of the bird? That could be interesting.

Cool. I just made an October page. This won't replace the really nice photo calendars, but I can see a lot of uses for it: A handout at meetings to show off one of your favorite photos; a homemade Almanac page; a calendar reminder to stick on the refrigerator door. Or print a whole year, Staples will bind it for you. Thanks Jerry.
