As long as the file system can address a 2 TB drive it should work I think...

For the sake of posterity, I can confirm that the high capacity SanDisk ExtremePRO Type B CFexpress cards (256GB) work on the D850. There is probably no reason why the 512GB card or even larger cards should not also work as I saw a report of a 2TB card working as I posted above.

Is there any data showing larger cards to be less reliable than smaller cards? I would doubt it, but I have not researched it. I have a 64 and 128gb CFast cards for my Canon since 2016. No issues.

I think it largely depends on how much you want to put on a card and how much money you want to spend.

I am curious as to your experience. What is the largest card you have used, CF, XQD, or SD?

Now that the D850 supports CFexpress I'm looking at SanDisk's line of larger CFexpress cards at 128/256/512 GB. I am currently using the Nikon 120GB XQD and a SanDisk 128GB SD but I need another.

Is it a clutch car or automatic... Does it have the door tags, could be researched some if desired.

What does it have for motor and drivetrain? The one my son just got he figured was originally a 6 cylinder grocery getter, until they started investigating the tag info...

I have a couple 256mb cf cards from about 2002. They can hold another a dozen shots each with my 2016 camera body. Would almost be like shooting a roll of film number wise...

My canon flash units at full power have a duration of about 1/1000 second. As the power output decreases the duration decreases to about 1/40,000th second. So if you can shoot using only the flash to light the subject the synch speed will not be a factor.

My general experience has been that most cameras will sync with a flash at 100th to 250th of a second. However, at times this is not really enough shutter speed to adequately freeze motion. Are there any cameras out there that could sync faster without going to some kind of lab camera that costs more than my car?

Lots of work, but you will enjoy the end result.

My son recently ended up purchasing the 679th Camaro built quite by accident. It was purchased as a car that was partly converted to drag race. But once they started looking into the tags they discovered it was a ‘67 RS/SS L48/4 speed Muncie car. Was originally white with black vinyl roof and blue console interior. Hope he restores it and puts it on the street. I believe it was in Michigan or Ohio too...

I might put $1,500 of gear on a $299 tripod, but not $15,000 of gear... Of course if you have a big investment in gear you probably will not either.

You spent how much on your camera and lens you surely do not want to trust your equipment and images to a toy. I have two Gitzo Tripods and four Gitzo Heads. Pricey but you can find used for much less.

Buy once, cry once...and don’t have to worry about putting thousands of dollars of gear on it. Quality gear will give better results and if you are on a budget can be found at times on eBay and other selling sites at good prices. I would steer clear of a tripod that doesn’t have mainly 4 or 5 star reviews... your mileage may vary...

My guess would be a $150 tripod and $75 head...

Canon won't be fixing the problem because it is a user problem and NOT a lens fault! It is simply vibration originating somewhere in the process of capturing the image and at 600mm vibration is greatly amplified.

You might want to check out Jeff Cable’s blog posts on the R5 and R6 if you have not read them...

Not quite ready for the R models yet. I figure that a 600 L lens will keep my existing dslrs in play and also work on mirrorless when I go that route.
