I am usually pretty quiet on this forum, but something about this story bothers me. One day in the mid - seventies in junior hight school I did something similar. The young lady involved immediately ran me down and administered a swift kick to my family jewels. I learned a lot about respect for women that day, never did that again, and it ended right there. She and I briefly dated later in high school, got together occasionally in college and remain friends to this day. I looked at the video clip of the incident, should he have done that especially while on camera? Of course not. Could she have stood three feet to the left out of the way of the runners and still got the shot and avoided the whole thing? Sure. I think what bothers me is the lack of personal responsibility today. In the pre - digital age, we didn’t get the police and courts involved, we just handled things ourselves. Should she have run him down and kicked him in the balls? I don’t know, that would have made some great news footage! https://wtvr.com/2019/12/14/runner-thomas-callaway-arrested-for-smacking-tv-reporter-alex-bozarjian-backside/

Had a similar experience with a KitchenAid hand mixer. Had it for years and one of the gears broke, only one beater would turn. Called KitchenAid customer service to see if I could get parts, they said the same thing, cut the cord off, give us your name and address and they sent me a brand new one no charge. That's customer service.

I would try the local pawn shop. Always see good meters for a reasonable price.

For sale is a slightly used Nikon D610 full frame 24 MP camera. It was refurbished by Nikon and bought from Cameta Camera for two specific projects both of which fell through. It was used as a backup, but very little. It is in excellent condition and has always worked perfectly with only 1285 shutter actuations. It comes with original box, battery, charger, cords, books and uncomfortable strap. For UHH folks, $600.00 plus $25 for shipping in CONUS.

I agree with Naptown Gaijin and would add do not eat any fruit that is not peeled. I don’t know where you are going, but in my experience Africa can be a land of extreme beauty, but can be a land of extreme ugliness and one needs to be emotionally prepared for that.

I quite like the D90, I have used mine with the 18-200 VR lens for 'run and gun' portraits at events for years. I use an SB-600 flash mounted on camera and bounce off the ceiling whenever possible. I generally get very good results. I also like the fact that you can output a .jpg file that is 1MP for online use. The battery lasts a long time, I remember doing 275 shots at one event and the battery still showed 3/4. The only problem I ever had with it was with the kit lens. At times it would show E in the top display and would not do anything. I found that if I released the lens mount button and turned the lens slightly and then snapped it back in place, it would work. That problem went away with the 18-200 VR. AF is reasonably fast and it will do just about everything you need to do. I think the D90 is a great camera and they are reasonably priced now.
