Google Dyxum, it is a website for sony shooters and has a lens database and rating for any A and E mount lenses.
Look at the Dyxum lens ratings of both lenses, seems to be a tossup. If you really want pocketability then go with the Sony. I have the 19mm Sigma for my 6000 and really like it,sharp, good colors, calendar/postcard quality images.
The 16-50 is OK, not great, the 55-210 does a really good job. The Sigma 19 and 30 DN lenses make a great combo with the 55-210. You will like the 6000 I find myself leaving my DS
LR's home and just using the 6000.
I have the 16-50 and the 55-210. The 16-50 is OK, but I wanted a really sharp wide angle for a trip to the Grand Canyon. Generally prime lenses are sharper than zooms. You do not need an adapter, af works fine. The Sigma does not have OSS, but at 19mm it seems to work fine. The 55-210 is very good. I also have an adapter for my Minolta A mount lenses. These give good results on the 6000, but still not any better than the 55-210. I have not bought the 30mm Sigma because I have a 35mm Rokinon A mount that seem to work pretty good on the 6000 with the adapter. Hope this helps
I just bought the Sigma 19 mm for my 6000, really sharp, small very good lens and only 200.00
What kind of camera do you have? These will work fine on Sony DSLR's including AF. However these were not the best Minolta lenses made.
I did the same as bull drink water with the same results. Wonder if this guy knows what he is talking about.
I have the a6000, it is a really good camera, tho a bit of a learning curve.
I have the a6000 and am going to buy the Sigma 30 and 19 lens. There are examples here on the Hog if you search. They are a really good lens.
I have the a6000 and really like it. There is a bit of a learning curve.
I have an a350 with all Minolta lenses. I get as good or better pics as my son's 7d or other son's 5D 11. Get the 28 to 135 and the 135 2.8. Try to stay with the 1985-87 dates of lenses. Go to Dyxum for lens ratings.
A fellow from Europe posted pics of the Alps on Dyxum about a month ago. They were taken with the a6000 and were absolutely breathtaking. He was using the Ziess 16-70. my wife has an a6000 and has the same problem as you, we're thinking of of spending 1K to get the better lens.
3 Sonys. looking for an a900
Now I know why I am like I am. Thanks for posting this.
