It's the final image that counts. Why would it matter if one gets there by tweaking or twerking?

Yes, it is the final image that counts!!! I am not a recorder of an image, but rather a producer of what I see in my mind. My icon shot looks nothing like the original except the pose of the dancer.

I found GIMP and Picasa to be pathetically slow so I vote for Photoshop

You do great stuff. I went on the website and entered Samiguy101 in the search block. The one with the caption: That face...up close... is great. I like the contemplative look of Betsy...

Thanks for the comment :):):)

There's also Art Nude which is photography showing the nude figure while not being explicit. Some photography meetup groups do nude, art nude, and boudoir. I'm a member of some boudoir photography meetup groups. The good thing about joining a photography meetup group is that the organizer is often a professional photographer who has a studio or rents a studio and has a lot of contacts. Sometimes there will even be a makeup artist. Some of the models actually travel a circuit all over the country to different studios.
There's also Art Nude which is photography showing... (show quote)

I'm talking about the same type of Nude Photography that you are. Go to my gallery on Deviant Art.com. My user name is Samiguy101...check it out.

I totally agree. I have been fascinated with Boudoir Photography, and see it as just another form of art. Just take a look at the ancient civilizations, look at all the paintings and sculptures!!!

I hope you realize that Boudoir Photography and Nude Photography are 2 different things.

There have been threads here talking about having a nude section here in UHH (similar to the way there is in 500PX)....some people are for it saying it is a valid art form-- some people appear offended by it. I personally have no problem with it, but basically side with not offending people on here.

If someone is offended by it the answer is simple...Don't Look!!!

That's funny. I've never had to ask a woman to model nude for me. They've always asked me to photograph them. The first time was in college - oh so many years ago. My girlfriend and I were walking up to a lookout point at Patrick's Point State Park in northern California. About halfway up, she asked, "Would you like to photograph me nude?" Without batting an eye, I replied, "I'd really rather keep my clothes on."
At which point she hit me in the back, (I was in front of her), and said, "You know what I mean."
I photographed her, and later, when she showed the pictures to her roommates, 2 of them wanted me to
photograph them nude also.
Anyway, over the years, I've never asked a woman to pose nude...they've always volunteered.
Somebody mentioned the Art Dept at a college. Good place to start. I remember my first figure drawing class at college. We also got a couple of girls to nude model in my beginning photography class at college. Again, so many years ago. (I graduated college 1970).
Good days, good times, good memories.

What you just said validates my point...THANK YOU!!!

I have been in professional photography for 40 years and I have seen some books on nude photography. Some like The Voice Within, for example. The photographer used his wife and all the shots were tasteful and had good taste and class. I have thought about this but have no idea where to obtain a model. Has anyone ever done this successfully.

I have been shooting nudes for about 25 years. I usually run ads in college newspapers. I never use the word "nude" in the ad.
It will say something like "Local photographer is looking for models. Height and weight in proportion. Dancers and
gymnasts and athletes are welcome. Must be over 18 years old". If you are not near any colleges you can run the same ad in newspapers.

If you get just one student and treat her right...she has friends who might be interested. I got one gal this way and, we have been working with for 3 years...
I still photograph her and we have also become good friends. She graduated college and invited me to her graduation and I went.

Most college kids can use a little extra money and I always pay them, but that is up to you.

I always put my phone number in the ad as I would rather they call me than e mail me.

There are many gals who would love to pose nude. There are 100's in each state and 1000's all over the country (no kidding)
They are basically looking for 2 things... a place to go...someone to trust. And making a little extra money doesn't hurt either. They will travel 25 to 50 miles for a shoot and a pro model will travel further than that.

I have a gallery on Deviant Art...

I'd be interested in knowing how it goes for you,

Experts say to spend money on a good glass instead of a camera body. So if I have a Canon 5D mk3 with a Zeiss lens that cost let's say $ 5000 and places it side by side with a Canon T3i with the same lens, same distance being aware of Dx vs FF, good lighting no need for high ISO. Am I going to get the same quality from both camera?
Your opinion please.

What is special about range finder cameras and what on Earth would make a camera worth 10 grand? You could buy two new Canon 50 mega Pix 5DS and a 5D MKIII for that much!

To me NO camera is worth that much!!!

I have the D 7000 and the D 7100 and never change lenses outdoors..they each have their own "normal" lens on all the time. Indoors...at times I will change lenses on rare occasion

I have had my Nikon 3300 and two zoom lenses (18-55mm and 55-300mm) for several many months. My last trip was to the Grand Canyon. Left home with my 55-300 on the camera, but found a trail side flower. Is there a definitive way to change lenses which lowers risk of dirt and damage?

YES, GET ANOTHER BODY!!!

Up to now I've always shot JPEG. I haven't yet ventured into RAW with the D7100 but intend to do so.

RAW is the only way to go...you can always make JPEG in Photoshop and keep the RAW . . . BUT you cannot do it the other way around.
Or put two memory cards in the camera and set one to RAW and the other to JPEG
