Thank for pointing out DPAF (Dual Pixel Autofocus). I had to look it up and after reading what it does, I now realize what an excellent feature I already have in my 7D Mark II. I now know that I need to make some AF adjustments in my camera for better tracking. Indeed it does say a lot about Canon.

7D Mark II Sigma 150-600 Sport lens. It's a fantastic combo and produces some great images. I was just becoming interested in the Sony due to an encounter with someone who had one and used with the same lens and producing some fantastic results. Obviously, there are differences in the two cameras and the real decision is what will spending extra money do to bring value to the overall experience. Still time to research and wait for new intros from Canon.

Thanks for all the replies to my search for making a decision on these two cameras. I like the point-counterpoint discussion on the merits of the two cameras. I will still continue to weigh all the options and wait until after the first of the year for new releases.

Both Canon and Nikon are playing catch up compared to Sony, Olympus, and Panasonic. If I were you, I would wait for the next generation mirrorless Canon camera and see if it met my needs at that time. If not, that would be the time to switch in my opinion.

This is the exactly my thinking at this time. It’s well worth waiting to see if Canon can improve their technology. Sony has certainly raised the bar for mirrorless.

I love the features of the Sony A73 III and an seriously considering buying one. I am a longtime Canon user and would prefer to stay in the Canon family for simplicity of standardized equipment and operation. My other choice would be the Canon R, but it doesn't match up to the Sony technology. Unless Canon reveals a new model soon, I am having trouble resisting, at this time, the Sony technology.
What are some of the opinions of users with experience in this.

I am interested in creating a coffee table photo book and was wondering if any of those that have had experience would be willing to share. Any tips would be much appreciated.

The buttons on my camera slightly stick, instead of a smooth release and popup. Not sure if fine dust, pollen, taking beach photos in salt air, and other factors have caused this.
Does anyone have a safe technique for cleaning around them?
