I had that view many, many times while on the ground. Worked on that special radio system that linked them to the tankers.

Came across this old shack while out on a drive. Now I can't remember exactly where.

Yesterday my wife and I went to Best Buy to compare the two cameras side by side. We have the SX50, so we brought it along. The first thing we notice was the button layout on the SX60 is much better than the SX50. On the 50 my wife is constantly hitting the control wheel on the back, then she hands it to me and says "fix it". So I turn off whatever was accidentally turned on and we're good for awhile. But on the SX60, they left more room for your thumb and recessed the buttons a little. If everything else was equal we would have bought it right there on the spot. Buuuttttt!!!!!! The autofocus is just terrible. We compared by focusing on the same spot with both cameras at the same time. It didn't matter if it was close up, far away, wide angle, telephoto or everywhere in between the SX 50 was faster. And the further the lens was extended the worse it got. When the SX60 was fully extended it was at least 2 seconds slower than the SX50. It was like watching paint dry waiting for that thing to focus. All things considered, even with the improvements to the SX60, the autofocus is a BIG deal breaker for us. We are going to keep our 50, and I'll just deal with the "fix it's" when they happen. Maybe the SX70 !!!

Just because it's Veterans Day, a little something with a military theme. I spent many hours working on these planes before retiring. These planes were fast, over 2000 MPH, and still accelerating.

Yes non Amazon Prime members are limited to 5gb. But if you are already a member, which I am, it's an added bonus. Although it's free, it is pretty slow. I've been uploading a folder with 73 photos( 2.6gb ) for over one and a half hours and it's only on photo 65. But, I have more time than money so I'll just start the upload and go take some more pictures.

hmm...interesting...any limit to file sizes (let's say a high def video)?

For photos there is a 2GB limit. I don't take a lot of video so I didn't pay that much attention. But I think it said 20 minutes was the limit.

I'm still trying to figure out whether that includes all file types (i.e. RAW). I suppose I'll have to just try uploading and see what happens.

I have Amazon Prime so I decided to give it a try. Yes it will upload RAW, at least my CR2 files, can't say about NEF. It is kind of slow. I've been uploading for about 30 minutes and only 25 of 73 pictures have uploaded. Oh well, it's slow, but free, I can live with that.

I spent many years in the Air Force working on the KC-135. We mostly refueled the SR-71, but once in awhile we did catch other planes. The C-5's looked like they were going to crash right into us, they would blot out everything as they closed the distance. The clip brought back memories, Thanks.

Uuglypher and Chris F. thank you for your comments. Lighthouse, this photo had minimal post processing. If I remember correctly I just hit the "Auto" in LR4, cropped to 13x19, printed and hung on the wall. I have recently subscribed to PS and LR5 and will try to address the problems you noted. It could take a bit of time, PS seems to have a "slight' learning curve.

Unfortunately if I moved to the right I would be standing in the Mississippi River. And to my left and in front was a half mile of fence that was posted. And "Minnesota Nice" does not included stepping over a farmers fence line, that can get ugly real fast. Also the close crop on the right was to crop out a stack of bright orange buoys and some boats. Thanks to everyone for your input, this place isn't to far so I will go back and try again now that the river has receded.
