I will sometimes make notes of what I need to accomplish for a given day. I have also learned that I forget these notes when in meetings so I will snap a photo with my phone because it is always with me.

This photo is with my Sony A77 (NOT my phone) from my hand's POV. Today's contest also helped me realize another benefit of being left handed - camera in right hand but I can still write with my left! :)

TO DO LIST

I'm fairly new to this stuff but this is a good challenge. I believe in a few years this will be possible, so save the image. In the mean time, here are a couple attempts.

Great idea on the "drawn" version! This is a good way to salvage the pic

The A77 is a great camera and will serve you better than the NEX. I found the NEX menu somewhat confusing when I investigated.

Thanks for the info!

Not that I'm trying to tell you what to do, but that DSLR will give you a lot more control over your exposure, and there are a lot of people on here to help you learn the camera, but you have the option to sell anyway. Good luck either way.

Took it out this weekend to get some pics of a friend's band at an Art Festival. Some good, some horrendous pics. At least I know it isn't the camera's fault - that is one reason to stick with this camera!

Thanks for the reply.

Hmmmm.....Why do you inquire about payments indyDean? what are you thinking about selling and or buying? We take most folks to be honest here, but it sounds like there is something else up behind your question. If I happen to be wrong, I apologize. The rest of the readers will figure it out.8-)

I have bought and sold used items on ebay and craigslist. For ebay, it has been paypal only. For craigslist (in person) I usually do cash only but have accepted checks from some people. I was really just curious what the norm was at UHH and did not intend to look shady! :) My eBay seller profile is indy_dean - perhaps my 100% seller feedback will dissuade any misgivings you have.

P.S. Thanks mtshooter for your response too!

I am happy with my new Sony but I haven't had a chance to try it under low light conditions (if you've read all the reviews, they mention trouble in low light...without flash) ...I have a wedding to do at the end of the month and I will certainly put it to the test then, but if it doesn't perform the way I need it to, I know my Nikon will work superbly!

I am looking at upgrading my sony a300--considered the SLT's, but I'm worried about the performance in low light, considering I'm getting more into weddings...those receptions are pretty low light! So, I'm leaning toward an a580 (if I can find one in my price range!)---or maybe a 700 or 900....anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

I just listed an A77 in the classifieds if you are interested.

Oh man!! I just bought an a580 and a new lens, so absolutely can't afford anything else right now....just curious, though--why are you selling it?

I had a 7mp point-and-shoot and then went to the A77. I think I maybe should have found some middle ground (NEX-5??) - I am a little nervous about carrying around a $2000 camera!! :) I had credit card rewards from Sony so I am not losing money selling for $1500.

I am curious how UHH sellers have handled payments for equipment sold on the classifieds here. Check, paypal, postal money order,... ?

As a new user of this site, I know I would need to prove I am a real, responsible adult and can do that through many means (work website, ebay seller profile, facebook, etc.). Do you make any similar demands of buyers?

Thanks,

Dean

What you want is a unique id that is uploaded as metadata with any unmodified image. At some point someone is going to show off a pic from your stolen camera on flickr

If a web service could track camera ids from phot uploads you may be able to track the camera down (especially with GPS coordinates)

Just to play devil's advocate, isn't your profile pic at a slant? In this case the subject is tilted rather than the camera but it does add a certain something to the image.
