Thanks to all....I couldn't find a wide-angle (in my price range) that fits without an adaptor, but I am still considering the Sigma with the adaptor. It is still cheaper than the Zeiss or Sony lenses. I got a Rokinon 8mm fisheye to play around with and will do more research on the wide-angle.
Is there any alternative for a wide-angle lens for a Sony a6000 other than the Sigma 10-20mm for which you must have an adaptor? The lens is an A-mount, thus requiring a A-mount to E-mount adaptor (for around $200) Does anyone know of another wide-angle that is compatible with this camera?
thank you so much for your reply....this site will help me a great deal when deciding what to do. I hate to think of paying almost the price of another camera for an adaptor but the investment in Canon lenses is pretty substantial.
Correction....the flash works fine. Operator error. Was shipped with an adaptor for my camera and works fine. My bad. Everything is working as it should.
I have a new Sony a6000 with 2 Sony lenses and before going to Massachusetts for Christmas I wanted a flash unit for indoor photos. I ordered one from Amazon that claimed to be a dedicated mount for the a6000 and it did not fit my camera. It came with 4 rechargeable batteries and a charger and cost about $115. Has anyone had any experience trying to use a flash on this model?
I have taken numerous on-line photo classes and love them! Some have been through a junior college in town and others from PPSOP. Many sites offer them. I like the ones with actual exams at the end so you will have to review and learn what has been posted. If you get a good instructor you get quite a bit of individual feedback.
I bought mine from Amazon and got the 16-50 mm plus the 55-210mm lenses. I also got the wall battery charger and two extra batteries (the batteries run down pretty quickly). I love the 55-210 and it has replaced my Tamron 18-270 which I use on my Canon. I would like an adaptor so I can use a longer lens on the a6000, but what I got is quite good and so much lighter I use it twice as much!
You explained it very well. (you and others) I do use a Canon camera and my mistake is not using Bridge to see the cr2 files and jpegs. Now that I do that it is much clearer. I never wanted to try to "convert" a jpeg to RAW, only to find the original RAW file that could be processed in RAW. I know now where to find it so thank you for all your helpful answers.. I had never really used Bridge but I see now that I need to.
In response to MikeMilton's questions, thank you by the way, this is what I do: Transfer images from memory card to Picasa (usually) then name the ones I want to keep and put those in C://libraries/pictures.. I then can open them in PS6 to PP. I understand now that the raw file is still there somewhere, I just have to find it. Got lots of good suggestions from others. Thank you.
Thank you all so much....a lot of good replies and now I can actually find and open the original file in order to convert it to raw. I knew there had to be a way!
