Help! I am looking to buy either the nikon d7100 or the canon 70d. I am into photography as a hobby but would like to get into it deeper on a non-professional level. I would be doing mostly sports, outdoor skiing, snowmobiling shots and nature, scenic shots..

I would like a camera that is a little weather resistant as well.

Any help appreciated!!!

I just watched a 31 minute video by Michaelthemendor.com
comparing the D7100 To the Canon70D.Very interesting.

No. That's why I added the "Withdrawn" to the title. Try ebay. That's where I buy quite a bit. Just be sure to get a shutter count before you bid. A refurb would be a better idea.

Thanks Jerry.I think i'll check Best Buy again for after Christmas discounts.

Jerry,
I see you have a withdrawn on your d600.I 'm going to buy a 7000 or a 600.Thought you may repost it for sale.
Best Buy has a sale going in York Pa.
Had a 7000 bought from them and when I was ready to pay for it the sales lady said she made a mistake .It was a PR camera and she couldn't sell it.It had to go back to Nikon. It was a display camera.
Please advise

I thought I would offer this here, rather than on eBay. If no one wants it, I’ll put it on eBay. I arrived at the price of $1,400 by taking the average of two dozen D600 bodies that were recently sold on eBay. That came to $1,425, and I rounded it down to $1,400 even. I’m firm on that price. Buyer pays shipping, whatever kind you want. Pay with PayPal.

I had two D600's, and I tended to use the other one most of the time, so this has just 84 shutter actuations. That’s right, not even 100 clicks. Not only that, but the shutter is brand new. In October, I sent it to Nikon for cleaning and adjusting, under warranty. They did the following work on it:

Replace shutter mechanism
Adjust mirror angle
Adjust AF unit
Adjust autofocus operation
Checked communication
Clean low pass filter
General check and clean
I will provide the buyer with copies of the original receipt and this service record.

The buyer will receive the following items:
D600 body
Body cap
Viewfinder cover
Hot shoe cover
Battery (Nikon)
Charger (Nikon)
Power cord for charger
USB cable
Nikon “D600” shoulder strap
Latest ViewNX 2 files
Original D600 box

The following extras will be included:
DVD with D600 instructional video, including several pages of info accompanying the video
D600 laminated tips cards
Night photography laminated cards
Time Lapse laminated cards
(The cards are homemade.)

CD with the following:
D600 Manual
Battery chart
Focus charts (3)
Night card
Night photo info
Time lapse card
Time lapse info
Photo Cheat Sheet
Photo-Making Process
YouTube links for the D600

to visit the one in Washington is very moving, everything is hustling and bustling until you walk down the path to this memorial and it gets very quiet and somber very quick, a very heart wrenching quietness i always have to go over and sit by the reflection pool after visiting, and to believe that I was only five when this war went on

been there three times.the unknown soldiers tomb is very quite.the guards see that it is.

She's trying to find a way to develop the film inside the camera. Any suggestions?

We keep reading that it's best to point the camera down when changing lenses. Could this really make a difference? It's not like we're outside during a volcanic eruption with tons of dust falling. The type of stuff that's likely to fall into a camera is so light that it can drift in any direction on wind currents. And how long is the open camera exposed to falling debris? Three seconds? I have never pointed my camera up, but I do hold it horizontally. I suspect it's like so many other iron-clad rules that don't mean a thing.

I'm afraid my post wasn't clear. Sorry.
In my former life I was an industrial electrician and a techno-geek. I have touched many "hot" conductors, deliberately, but only if I was careful to not be grounded. That means not touching a metal pipe or heat register or anything else that would complete a circuit to the ground or earth.
A rubber mat isn't necessary, a wood floor or board will do, anything that isn't a conductor.
Still, I am not recommending to anyone to do what I did unless they understand the physics of the situation.
I'm just sayin'.

It is a reduction sprocket for a drag harvester. That diameter sprocket was most likely for fluffing the rows of wheat and not slow enough for bailing.

Looks like a drive sprocket on a horse drawn corn planter.
