Nice to see England again and thanks . . . . . May I make a well meant suggestion? Most of your images are not level and as such are not easy to view. Try re-editing them and see if that works even better for your photo story.

Nooooooo!

I take your "Noooooo!" as a please no and not an opinion "Noooooo!"
Actually I agree in both cases . . .!

It appears to me that a bunny right leg is hanging down from nis left jaw while the chest of the meal is splayed wide open makes the meal look larger than had it been in a natural stage.

BTW . . .absolutel love all of your african images. What a wonderful experience you had. Well done capturing it on "film" . . .thanks for sharing with us.

Actually, it's a coyote.

You could be right. I'd add that it would need to have been road kill for a fox to acquire it as carry out.

Looks like part of a larger carcass. The fur looks like it might be a wolf carcass.

Sorry butthere are no wolves left since colonial times. Coyotes have moved here from our western areas.

While I was stopped at a stop sign this guy came by with take out lunch . . . ! He crossed the intersection not more than 20 feet in front of my car. It took me a while to respond once I realized what was happening.

Not sure what he had. It seems to be too large and bulky for a squirrel. It might be a rabbit even though the foxes have cleared them out long ago. Any ideas?

try taking the 2 external drives and simply connect them to a different MAC...or even a PC as MAC uses ExFat file structure which can be seen/read by Windows...Are these devices seen by the PC, can you access the files...& then do a test...transfer a file from the PC to one of drives...If it works...It is not your external drives....As solid as MACs are they do have issues

Not entirely applicable as EXFAT disk file structure is one of severl file formats that can be used for MAC disk drives. It is NOT the default setting for formatting HDDs. So her HDDs are most likely not viewable on a PC.

If you don't have access to another MAC but live near to an Apple store, you might take them to an Apple store and have them try to read them. This might work by visiting a Best Buy store and going to their technical service desk for help.

You might try using Back Button focusing to separate that function from the shutter release action.
The use of back button focusing is highly recommended for wild life imaging or all the time.
Check out this and you might like its use.

Yes all very wonderful images and ones that I'd love to call my own . . . . ; BUT! No-one has mentioned the most unusual capture of all.

Isn't that an owl cast resting on the roof ledge? It sure looks like all the fur and indegestable remains of a mouse or two!

Great capture all . . . lucky you and a very happy new year to boot.

I love this lens. One is enough for now. Looks like a good price.

Love my copy of this lens. I use it more for a walk around equivalent of a "nifty 50". It does it all and does it to all very well!

Great price Please snap it up or I'll end up with two.

Spotted this Blue Jay and captured him with a mouth full of acorns!
Do BJs really eat acorns?

My favorite is the last one. It seems the most natural and nicely arranged in an excellent composition.

I'll jump into the praise for Tamron and their repair facility. I had an issue with the VR function on my tele-zoom which was still under their great warranty. Sent it in for repair and had it back in less tham a week!

I did the same experiment recently with my Nikon 80-400. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. It helped me get good shots of butterflies that I normally can't get very close to.

I to use my 80 - 400 for close-up imaging. What I add to the mix is the use of extension tubes.
That lans with the use of tubes can be fantastic at capturing the world up close while maintaining good separation between the subject and the lens itself. What is interesting is the way you achieve focus. It can be via the lens zoom function and or via its focusing function. Thus you have a variety of ways for capturing your subject.
