Mornin' everyone: Last night I used my newly purchased Nikon D3100 with 70-300 mm zoom lens. I mostly used the live view, so I could see what I was shooting. Used "Auto" setting. Likely shot about 150 photos, then my battery started to go down, next thing I know it's showing red. I thought these batteries would last for ages. Brand new battery also.
Anyone got any suggestions for me. :-(

Try removing the batteries and clean off thier ends. Do the
same for the contact inside the camera. But I would say that
LCS screen is what ate up the battery power.
Unless it was real cold.
Hope this helps

What is that? I was using a Polarized filter and was aiming up. So is that the sun bouncing off the filter?

Maybe I'll just send it into one of those UFO cable shows. They would have a field day with it.

Thanks shutter blades sounds right.

So much stuff to learn

I have learn from this group that sometimes you need to for lack of a better work "bend". But even though I do get down there and get shots from other angles, well getting up is a bear. So I was wondering is there a way to pass on the getting down and getting up part. But still get shots from another angle?

My camera is a 10 yr old Canon Rebel and it does have video out ports. But they seem to be for down loading from the memory card.

What I would need is a way to see what the camera see, and what the camera is telling me, played onto some type of monitor.

Any help would be welcome.

PS: Maybe my camera is a bit old for this kind of stuff.

Happen to come across a HD video that was better then being there. So very clear, but kind of soft in a way. So I'm wondering are there HD camera's that would give the same type of sharp but soft look to the shots.

The HD video did have stills, but I guess they could have been taken from the HD video.

Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Thank you

So some of you don’t like me, but why should I leave, when I’m learning something.
I can just turn off the Chit Chat link, and keep learning.

So this will be my last Chit Chat entry.
I wish you well

You win. You push a old disabled fellow of your off your group. The stories were true, but maybe worded wrong. I feel sorry for all of our soldiers who died for our freedom and then you stand up on your high horse and step on some one else. Your not an American, you don't know what it means...

Where are you? If you are further north of the equator, you actually have more than a golden "hour" during the winter months. I use a tool at http://www.sunearthtools.com/dp/tools/pos_sun.php to estimate the best time to shoot both at home and when I am planning to be elsewhere.

On this page, move the map to where you want to be shooting, then change the date to the date you want to be shooting. Then click the "execute" button.

Then go half way down the page to a sun position chart for that day and place. Your "golden hour" generally ends in the morning when the sun gets up to an elevation of around 20 degrees from the horizon and starts again in the afternoon when the sun gets back down to an elevation of around 20 degrees.

It's not an exact time or elevation, but generally the light is more friendly at and below those spots. Depending on where you are shooting, you may have more time than you thought. In Fargo, North Dakota, golden hour lasts about eight hours in the middle of December.

Good luck.

Diet,

Last time I saw a Mack truck being built, it was in Hagerstown, MD which is about 30 miles or less south of Shippenburg, PA.

In fact, right near Mack Truck they built the Fairchild A-10 Wart Hog. They used to test fly them over my house in Zullinger, PA.

Sarge, Please don't tell that jerkoff Diet anything....He is certifiable....

Hey Nikon Don B: What happen man, I thought we were going to be pals. The stuff you say in PM is not what you are now saying in the open.
Less talk later in PM about stuff.

UHH Cutting room with English Wolf, is starting to become a place that I spend time at. While it is a little hard tone, I’m starting to learn stuff there. I know how I stand with English Wolf, but I do enjoy and what he is doing in this section. Keep up the good work.

Thank You

With my duties, shooting in the golden hour is just not going to happen. By the time I get everything ready it’s high noon and I have maybe 3 hrs before I need to pick up someone.

So what can I do to make High Noon look like early morning or sunset? I’m on SS so funds are tight. So I hope it is a simple fix or at lease a low coat one.

Thanks again for your help.

Diet, We here at uhh are all tired of your stupid, obnoxious posts that shed bad light on women in general. We are also tired of the sexual stories. If you post in the future please keep them as normal & clean as possible. Thank you.

Stevenelson

The stores that I posted were to bring to the forefront how women are treated in America.
How young girls in school can be victimized.
How a young girl in her own home is not safe.
How a group of upper class folks, looked the other way or were part of a young girl being tied up and pictures of her taken.
This same group looked the other way a few years before as a school bus driver had sexual relation with a under age student (at the club).

How many stories are on the evening news, of a young women gone missing. Or a young girl not making it home from school. We know all know how most are found and about all we can do is try to protect our family. Cause for the most part our law enforcement and court system as failed us.

I feel a lot of the problem can be traced right back to the advertising industry. They are the ones who use women to sell everything. I guess one could even fine ads for a camera with a young woman in it.

Are flag flies both ways, and while you got the right to say what you want to, so do I.
To me you are just stepping on our flag and the brave young men who died to keep it flying.

Hi Dietxanadu: I'm curious is that the mission in San Fernando or San Francisco. If I remember correctly those bells and signs used to mark the Camino Real, or royal highway and the missions were about a days travel apart. I've been to the missions San Gabriel and Capistrano and one othere one but I can't remember where it was but it was north of Los Angles. There is a lot of history in those missions.

Sorry it is the Mission San Fernando Rey de Espana, in Mission Hills, Calif. I don't know about the days walk apart as the next mission is Mission San Buenaventura, in Ventura, Calif.
Maybe on horse back, but sure not walking.
Would love to tell you something very personal about this mission, but you would think that I'm as crazy as most folks on the group say I am.

Thanks for looking.
