HD Video So do they have HD cameras

Happen to come across a HD video that was better then being there. So very clear, but kind of soft in a way. So I'm wondering are there HD camera's that would give the same type of sharp but soft look to the shots.

The HD video did have stills, but I guess they could have been taken from the HD video.

Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Thank you

"Sharp but soft" has me puzzled. Many DSLRs can do HD video, and it is possible to make a still photo from the video. Some cameras allow for that; otherwise, you would have to use software.

But my comments might not be relavent to what you are asking.

It's my understanding that many HD video capable DSLR camera cannot change or follow focus while recording. Perhaps the subject was moving and went slightly out of focus?

My Canon 60D has the capability, but so far I have no interest in video.

Another possible meaning of clear but soft could be the shallow depth of field possible with DSLR video. The subject in focus and the background soft. This cannot be done with small sensor video cameras.

wrong you change or follow focus manually most dslr's dont auto focus or are slow in auto focus, so you have to manual focus on your subject as it moves....

Yeah, that makes sense. I was thinking of my P&S Lumix, which has no way to manually adjust focus to the best of my knowledge.
