Volvo headquaters moved to Shippensburg, PA.

I'm moving this thread to the right area.

So it seems that Volvo is moving its headquarters to Shippensburg, PA.
That would be Volvo, non car division, as Ford now owns Volvo cars. But is seems now Ford has sold Volvo cars to a Chinese company called Geely Group.

Volvo already owns both Renault Trucks and Mack Trucks.
So does this mean that they will be building there Volvo trucks and maybe Renault / Mack trucks at this new plant?

As far as moving its headquarters to America from Sweden, I don’t see why. Setting up there American truck headquarters in PA makes since, but not moving its global headquarter here.

Just my thoughts, I could be wrong

Diet
PS: It seems that Volvo has acquired Nissan Diesels as well.

All I could find online is that Volvo is moving a transmission assembly plant to the U.S. This is from a release by the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association dated Nov. 14, 2011.

As to the headquarters move, the only thing I could find was that Volvo is moving its North American headquarters from California back to its original site, Rockleigh, New Jersey. The facility in Shippensburg, PA is a manufacturing facility they've owned since 2006. They make heavy duty road building equipment there. You can see the info if you Google Volvo Construction Equipment.

Where do you get your information?

C'mon, you have to do better than that. Stories? Are you for real? Give us one link that backs up anything I've questioned. What internet auto groups? Show me the press release from Volvo that says they are moving their headquarters to Pennsylvania.

Diet,

Last time I saw a Mack truck being built, it was in Hagerstown, MD which is about 30 miles or less south of Shippenburg, PA.

In fact, right near Mack Truck they built the Fairchild A-10 Wart Hog. They used to test fly them over my house in Zullinger, PA.

The original post in this thread says nothing about Catman. You made the first post. Where does Catman come into it?

I used to work at Mack Truck World Headquarters in Allentown, PA which was closed and sold and most everything was moved to Greensboro, NC. except for the Customer Center located in Allentown. Greensboro is their main Truck headquarters in the States. Hagerstown, MD is the power train manufacturing plant for Volvo and Mack Trucks. The assembly plant for Mack Truck is located in Macungie, PA. That is the only plant that produces Mack Trucks. I'm just sayin'
