I'm just fooling around with the Photodiox Macro Extension Tube Kit.These close ups are hand held and manual focus Most people don't even know all of the states are posted on the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the $5.00 dollar bill.

Believe there are only 26. All states are shown on the actual Memorial, but etching on $5 bill doesn't show all sides.

Definitely fishy...right up there with "your tires are dry-rotted...it's a wonder you made it to the shop!" :(

Dry rotting, a sidewall occurrence, is a real issue, certainly more important than "rusty rotors".

Perhaps use a 'checker'. You have a spelling problem, maybe you're not using elements right. There is an awful amount of misspelling in these blogs. For a group that wants to achieve accuracy and clarity in photography, that kind of accuracy in our writing is sorely lacking.

Not only are you being duped by the right wing nutjobs out there, every one of your ridiculous charges has been debunked several time right here on UHH. Your drivel is so tiresome I won't even respond to all of the falsehoods you are promoting. And I hope no one else give nonsense like this post the time of day, either.[/quote]

Let's make this issue personal. Equal distribution of resources. If you are buying the present administration's policies and programs, are you willing to give your carefully selected photo equipment, purchased with your hard earned income, to a rank amateur (not necessarily Obama) who wants it only because he can't afford it? My guess - "No!" The socialism that is seeping out of the Obama years is appalling and scary. And it affects us all in all walks of life, both at home and internationally.

Of course not, he can't campain on his past acomplishments because he doesn't have any. He's trying any way he can to get votes. Why would that be racists?

Because actions like this, addressed to only one ethnic group, brings out the "race card" and Obama knows that. Next, he'll have Sharpton and Jackson hawking his "forward" potential. That's where racism in political campaigning starts.

Never on a 'lense' - but often on a lens, depending on the ambient light.

From Dictionary.com

lense
noun

a transparent optical device used to converge or diverge transmitted light and to form images [syn: lens]

The word is actually lens, from Latin. The variant, lense, while sometimes seen and may be listed as an alternative spelling, is rarely listed in mainstream dictionaries as acceptable.

Was hoping you'd have some pics of the early colonial homes and other landmarks. This was an historic settlement. also in the area are two prestigious boarding schools -- Eaglebrook and Deerfield Academy. The entire area -- about a 25 mile radius -- is full of things to see, from some of the CT River Valley tobacco barns (sheds) to famous tool manufacturer's. Enjoy.

Here in Salt Lake a man has been recognized, and honored for being a POW. Claimed to have been imprisoned in VIET NAM for 6months. Been on TV and several stories in the news. SOMEONE decided to check his facts, since they had been in the group he claimed to have served with, at the same time.
No records of him being a POW, or even serving in VIET NAM. He was drafted, and served two years statside.
So what should they do to him? There is a lot of talk of prosecutiing him. I know several Vets who served and I see vets at the VA who were injured, or imprisoned at one time. My vote of course is YES prosecute him. In honor of all those who were POW's or even served in the war. So what do you think?

Shouldn't the nation be asking the same questions about the credentials of the present POTUS?

How many cows did you have to move? I might have been tempted to throw them a bit of hay and let them tough it out. Though it doesn't look like you have much shelter in that area. Did Jan get any pictures of you moving them?

If a cow which reads Reader's Digest produces condensed milk, did yours produce frozen yogurt or ice cream?

Maybe the best answer could come from reading John Locke.

I often hear the question “why can’t we just get along?” A good start would be mutual respect. The positions we take on most any given subject come from the culmination of our life experience. This includes our education, our life experiences and our interaction with the world around us. My experience is different than yours and as a result I may look at the world from a different perspective, no better and no worse just different. When someone shares an opinion it’s based on all those factors mentioned above. When you then respond with derogatory comments you in affect are invalidating one’s life experience. Now let me ask you, if you invalidate one’s life what do you expect the response to be? I have many friends both on the right and the left I disagree with many but I always respect their opinions and their right to have them. Maybe, just maybe, if we learn to value people for who they are instead of whom we think they should be we may find it easier to “just get along”.

Perhaps a little altruistic? Seems disagreement is an innate characteristic of mankind. After all, isn't one of the first stories in the Bible about the Cain/Able conflict?

Shouldn't we appreciate nature's flaws? Does everything need to be perfect? I think I'm tired of "perfect" pictures and "perfect" people. Does anyone else feel this way? I really like seeing English shows because they are real...and sometimes plain or even homely real people. How do the rest of you Hogs feel? I wonder if I should strive to make every picture better than the subject--rather than the best photo of the real person AND their "flaws"? Love to hear other thoughts on this. (This includes flowers, etc., with natural flaws.)

Perhaps those of us who strive for the best shot right out of the camera should take lessons from Galen Rowell -- recognize the opportunity, work to get the right perspective and wait for the appropriate moment. Would be nice to be able to do that, but today is such a rushed, I-want-it-now society that we forget how to really work a project.
