When was it manufactured, how long, how many elements/groups? Basically the construction of the lens.

100% on the 40mm. I’ve been reading for awhile (lol). I wanted to know if anyone knew any sites or reviews or explanations of this lens. It seems they made a 50-300 version for Nikon, but this is a 40.

Does anyone have any information on a Canon FD mount Sigma 40-300mm f4.5-6.5 lens? It has an 82mm filter size. I posted this question in the Canon FD Facebook group but got only "nos". I have performed multiple searches on the web and even emailed Sigma corp directly. It seems to be really well-made. I'm hoping the collective knowledge here has an answer.

I own this lens and it is excellent. It tests better than the Canon 100mm according to multiple reviews.

I shot Egypt with a Canon AE-1P and a 35-70mm lens on Pro H color slide film. No one was interested in stealing a film camera.
