I have been using ICE for some time and highly recommend it. The photographs do have to be taken at the same time and place. I also like that it joins vertical as well as horizontal, this is two joined vertical.
Saint Martin Church on the Island of Sint Maarten, we visit regularly and remember our departed loved ones. Fortunately the church survived the recent hurricane that did so much damage.

Homosassa State Park is excellent, take the boat ride from the car park to the entrance, we saw a hummingbirds nest on one visit. Stay clear of Lou.

great info; thank you for taking the time; I am really finding out, late in the game, that December might be the best time to see the most eagles, although, the weather is still problematic, at times.
have you gone to see the eagles in Vancouver or Alaska ?

When we do an Alaska cruise, we fly to Seattle and take the Amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver, just across the Canadian border at White Rock, we have seen as many as 108 bald eagles, according to the conductor, on the beach, it has to be low water though, the same journey at high water yielded nil.

These photographs are of an immature bald eagle, taken through the carriage window, with a D90 70-300 in 2012.

Many are responding with info about placing the SSD in an external case or enclosure. My original question was asking if the SSD can be used in an external DOCK..... that device where you insert, use, remove and can then insert another drive. A dock is used for multiple drives, not as an enclosure.

Sorry, I did not infer that from your post: "...they are stored on the HDD under Pictures by year and month.".

I don't use the "Pictures" directory embedded down under "User", I have my photos structured in a "Photos" directory in the root so I don't have to keep drilling down to get to them.

I use the Pictures location as a backup, remembering previously downloaded photographs is a boon.
I transfer the photographs to a separate Hard Drive required location, where I rename them and create storage directories as necessary and do any editing I deem necessary.

Photos also has a simple rotation and trim function that I regularly need as I photograph ships at sea from another moving ship and I like to alter the horizon I also use the Microsoft ICE programme to quickly create panorama shots of two or more photographs, simply and quickly.

I won't use it, it doesn't fit my filing system.
And, I'd rather have control over where the files are stored.

You can specify the location.
