I think the above response really does support the research outcome, that intelligence testing constantly and invariably shows that believers don't score as high in them as non believers, who therefore appear to have lower intellectual capacity than non believers. Sorry guys, but the research speaks for itself whether you want to believe it or not.

I would never want to get into a futile argument on the issue of creation v evolution. For me it is a total waste of time. However, it is an interesting and indesputable fact that when intelligence tests have been carried out on large populations, both in the USA and in the UK and then the beliefs of respondents checked, it is invariably the case that non-believers score significantly higher than believers. I'm sure there must be a valid reason for this quite obvious difference.

Your attitude is the reason this happens and continues to happen. Did you miss that they gave anesthesia to some of them and then told the Mother that their baby died. The priest had fake funerals for the babies knowing that the baby was alive. Pretty sick. If you have ever lost a child you would know how devastating that is. Just because they were unwed does NOT mean they would have had an abortion.

The Catholic church should have left the priest in Chili to sink or swim on his own. Protecting him does not protect an unsuspecting public.

For me this is the soundest response on this thread so far and addresses issues overlooked by others
I feel that this is the soundest response so far on this thread. It addresses the far wider issues that others seem to have overlooked or not addresed.

Not all priests are involved with trafficking babies or pedophiles, but the church protecting the bad priests makes them all look bad.

I think your response is even worse. Let us look again at what you said:
Canonuser called UXOEOD an "evil minded shit bag" - which indicates that your vocabulary is extremely limited - because there is nothing in what he said that called for such gutter-talk.

With respect to your poor judgment about my command of the English language, I do actually have the widest imaginable vocabulary. However, there are rare occasions where basic Anglo Saxon vocabulary and limited available time seem to more accurately reflect my views on a post so dreadful as that posted by this person. I'm sorry if I disturbed your sensitivity, but the comments were designed only to express my feelings towards that individual in person, which I still think are deserved.

Really? You post a photo with an ugly anomaly asking for advise/assistance on the "line", and you go thru the effort to watermark it predominantly to keep someone/anyone from, from what stealing it?

Either you are one hell of an egotistical fool, thinking even your bad photos are so great someone would want to claim it as their own, or your opinion of us on this site is extremely low that we would want to steal a BAD photo.

I can not even find your offending line for your obtrusive and offending watermark. GOOD LUCK Sir.

I suppose it's inevitable from time to time, when a guy asks an innocent question there will always be some evil minded shit bag that will respond like this.

actually, no. digital simply cannot reproduce the tonal gradation in black and white which film can.

as far as colour, the women and men, a lot of them still living reach for something beyond postcard quality; this is why they still use film. digital is merely a shadow of film reproduction.

I'm afraid that had this old fashioned thinking pervaded mankind, we would all still be living in the dark ages. Sure, some innovative ideas fail. Film over glass plates was not one that did and by a long stretch digital over film is another that clearly has not failed. There are still a few who do not notice when the rest of the world passes them by, leaving them far behind, using all their energy to support strategies almost no one else is interested in.

Is it just me, or what?

Each morning, over my first cup of coffee, as I peruse the photographs here on UHH, I am AMAZED by 2 things.

Firstly, the many wonders of the world we photographers see, enjoy, photograph and share. We truely live in an amazing universe, and collect wonders.

Secondly, the large numbers of oh so close to GREAT wallhangers, that miss the mark by composition, only. Everything about these photos are right, color, exposure, subject, story, feeling, you name it, it is right, except the final over all composition.

If we all, will simply practice the Rule of Thirds, and to have our "subject", what ever it is, look into the frame not out of, so many of the images would really be GREAT WALLHANGERS. People should look into the picture, birds fly into the picture, trains roll into the .... don't mean to be redundant.

Yes, there are times to violate the standard rules, but they are few and hard to find. I do not mean to lecture, but I think working on composition will make so many of us so much more satisfied with our photograhy.

From time to time I make shows using ProShow Producer. They usually are 15 to 20 minutes in length and have around 200 pictures. Sometimes the pictures are mine sometimes they are other peoples. Without doubt there are more positive responses from viewers when most pictures are properly composed. Subconsciously I feel far more relaxed having watched a show with properly composed shots than I do with poorly composed ones and I think this also applies to viewers who know nothing about photograph although they cannot understand why. I think breaking rules can be good, but is never going to work so well as following at least some of them. I'm glad the builders who built my house followed accepted rules and standards.

No, not at all, but I'll guarantee you that if you read what's available and carry out a bit of basic research, at least you'll know SOMETHING.

Hey, Jack the Ripper was thought to be a noted white Anglo surgeon. He was only one person, as is Lewthwaite. There are 50+ million people in England, not just those two. What are you implying?

It is now strongly believed that this woman, who is not in the UK, is now a leader, a trainer and a planner of radical Islamist atrocities, or had you missed this information.
Your comparison with her and Jack the Ripper is pretty meaningless, quite irrelevant and pretty stupid.

In the 1960's, when the provisional IRA were building remote-controlled bombs in Ireland, there was a sudden spate of these bombs prematurely exploding, killing the builders. Rumour had it the British army had this powerful radio transmitter that they drove around suspicious neighbourhoods broadcasting the detonate command. Apparently, all the radio triggers for these bombs used the same radio frequency. Would be nice to have a similar device for ISIS.

There were no remote controlled bombs in the 60s. The best taht could be managed was either a timer or a long length of wire.

I don't think we should underestimate our secuity services. The vast majority of those that pose threats are under their microscope at all times. The planned movements of suspects will be known about long before they make them and if they are trying to fly back into our countries this will be known about before they even board a plane at their departure airport.

Racial profiling should be stepped up to maximum. There were no Anglo, white, Christian males or females that hi-jacked those 'planes on 9/11. They were muslims and they had Arabian names. Pull all of them over and do thorough searches.
Any of their brethren who complain of racial profiling, or any complaining liberals of any race should immediately be put on the "No-Fly List". "Thou dost protest too loudly!"
If these murderous hi-jackers were white Brits, then I would expect to be pulled over and searched.

Suggest you check out
Samantha Lewthwaite from the town of Aylesbury in the UK. Currently thought to be behind some of the worst recent atrocities.

So you think you can get away with writing such crap without getting negative comments, both about you and your remarks. I suggest as one of your long dead presidents said, 'if you can't stand the heat [and it appears you cant], get out of the kitchen.
