very cool and a great shot! we travelled thru new hampshire and saw moose signs everywhere but never a moose :(

Thanks katie. Hope you get a chance to watch some moose sometime, they're intresting animals.
Last year there was a video going around the internet showing a moose with two young ones in someones back yard. For about 4 or 5 minutes the youngsters jumped in and out of the lawn sprinkler just like our kids would do.

All the photos of 1929 Dodge sedans seem to have only one set of air vents on the side of the hood. The one in my photo has a set of three. Is this just a different model?
Most of the 1929's I found on the net have the one set of vents. I found one 29 coupe that had 3 but it had wire wheels like most of the 29's. And maybe that hood had been replaced. Most of the 28 models that I could get a good look at had the 3 sets of vents so my inexperienced guess would be it is a 1928. You might take the picture to a car show and see if someone can identify it. And it will be a good photo op besides.

Better get your moon shots in while you can. It's moving away from us at a rate of 3.8 cm a year. Lets see, maybe I better order that 600mm lens.

If my perception is right it looks like the handles are offset a little. So when the metal is fed in from the left it exits toward the hands of the operator. The offset handles keep the crimped material away from his (or her) hands. As the lower handle is raised, tension applied to the spring makes the dog pivot pin and the two spring holes to line up in a straight line, thereby forcing the dogs nose down into the cogs on the upper gear and causing it to rotate counter clockwise. Pump the lower handle and this little gadget just crawls along the metal just making it look puuurdy!

Move over everbody. Breezy is here and he is "excellent' at what he does. Anyone else excellent at what you do? Not me but that's just my 'humble' opinion! Sorry!

I've heard of this and have been using a variation of it to teach the photography merit badge to scouts. It seems to sink in pretty easliy.

If the threads in the bottom are metal and you cannot find a match, try a plastic or nylon bolt. You may screw up the threads on the bolt but you have saved the metal threads in case you run across something better.

I know this is not the original purpose of this topic but no one mentioned magnetism or static electricity for destroying information. Am I to assume that data on recording media subjected to either of the above is recoverable? This was definetely a problem in our computer room at one time.

I am looking for a new camera bag. I'd like one that I can wear comfortably and not put down during shootings. I've seen some that Scot Kelby had in one of his books. Thought about having some kind of belt system and just hook holsters to that? Not sure but I"ll be shooting some weddings this year and don't want to lose any of my gear leaving it anywhere. Anyone have experience ? wish you had another kind of bag? I currently have a couple bags. One is a backpack type which isn't bad but you always have to set it down to dig through your gear. I've seen a couple where it slings in front and opens on top so you don't have to put it down. Can't find it now..

Best Buy had a "LOWEPRO Slingshot 202 aw" that swings to your front and allows top access to the camera and lens compartment.

By the way, I didn't see anyone respond to the f1.4 question.
I think it is a 50mm prime LENS. I have one for my Canon A-1 and like it. I use it mainly for nighttime shots. At the time I bought the A-1, I could have bought a 50mm prime f1.2 lens but they told me that unless I was a pro I would have a hard time controlling the light with it. I got the f1.4, so what does that tell you about being a pro!
