Hi, I just purchased a used Tiltall monopod bu Uniphot Corp. I realize it is a very old one. At the bottom of the monopod there is a place for something to screw in (a little larger screw than the 1/4"). My question is, is something missing on this monopod. If used in the woods dirt will fill the hole. If used on concrete it wants to slide instead of gripping the ground. I think I need to get something to screw into the bottom. What do you hedgehogs think would be good to solve my problem?
I don't know that particular model but I would suspect the spike or rubber shoe is missing.
I agree with FrankT. Look at the local hardware stores to see if they have any screw-in rubber feet like you can find on appliances. The threads may fit. Alternately, you could find a matching bolt to screw in there and glue on a small rubber foot.
If the threads in the bottom are metal and you cannot find a match, try a plastic or nylon bolt. You may screw up the threads on the bolt but you have saved the metal threads in case you run across something better.

Stop at a Home Depot to match up the bolt and thread size, then you'll know what size tip to purchase
My monopod bottom always would slip on tile floor so I purchased a rubber foot at Home Depot which slips right on very secured. Problem solved, 4 pack for 1.98 works Great!

Excellent idea but I think the monopod tip has a rather small diameter.
Bring the monopod to the store to find the appropriate fitting boot they com in all sizes!
