I lived in Grapevine for 23 years. With winter coming on here in middle Tennessee, I miss the mild winters in that part of Texas. But I have to admit, I don't miss the traffic!

Nicely done! If I recall correctly, Hangmen were not particularly favored here in the US West, either. They were necessary, and their skills were respected, but no one wanted to associate with them.
