For those wondering, Road Runners can "fly" for a short distance. But it is more "gliding" in that I never saw one flap it's wings to take off. They leap with their feet into the air then float with wings extended. They live and forage for food on the ground, and can move quite rapidly.
I find trees to be more of an obstacle.

Never leave photo equipment visible inside a car. Or anything of value.I temporarily live in a high humidity environment but a gated community. I leave all my cameras and lenses in the car except for shooting and never deal with fogging. Shooting during a sunny day I avoid parking in direct sunlight for any lengthy period.
Good on you Brian for getting those blood suckers to in essence pay for your camera. We should all make every legal way to deprive them, and Congress from wasting our money!
I was recently at Zion and threatened with arrest and fine for driving my car into the canyon. Hadn' t been there in several decades. I innocently followed 2 other cars in.A surly shuttle driver told me no cars were allowed as he was radioing my license # to headquarters.
Am not seeking sympathy here- just a warning to others who may visit during tourist season.

I have an old Tokina mf 500, f8 for my Pentax K-1. It is virtually impossible to focus precisely. Even when I rely on the camera viewfinder to glow and beep when it thinks focus has been achieved. I will see if there is an adapter made which allows af if the Minolta is mounted.

I own and use 4 Pentax digital bodies. When I switched in 2008, the ability to use virtually any 35 mm lens the company ever produced was a major factor for me.All your old lenses will cover the FF K-1 but are only manual focus. Their newer and more expensive digital lenses will auto focus and give slightly better IQ.However there are thousands of earlier model af lenses available at bargain prices.
I am very pleased with my cameras and lenses and will stay with Pentax until I croak.
I have been doing digital photography for nearly 20 years now and prior to that had 35 years of film experience. The present discussion cleared up some things for me. This is the beauty of both photography as well as this forum. We are always learning something new.
