Make lodging reservations EARLY EARLY EARLY!!! And get to the Balloon Fiesta Park even earlier. Imagine New Years Eve in Times Square, New York on steroids.

Four years ago, this was in April. My wife and I drove from SE New Mexico to Houston. At the time I was new to digital photography. And along the side of the highway all across Texas was a treasure trove of wild flora. I was like a kid let loose in a candy store.

Lately, I've been looking at a couple of Nikon AI lenses on eBay. The lenses are from sellers in Japan. I've not seen anything posted recently on this forum, please forgive me if this question has been asked and answered and I've missed it.

Does anyone know about taxes or other fees that are applicable in receiving used photo equipment from Japan? The seller lists free shipping, but later in his post, there's a caveat about import fees that may be due.

Thanks in advance for any input anyone may have.

I have bought a couple of lenses on Ebay from Japanese vendors. I don't remember their names, but both times their prices were reasonable. They arrived in excellent condition because they were very well packaged. And coming from across the ocean I was surprised at the prompt delivery.

I'm on a project where I am editing a large batch of photos in RAW on ON1. As I loaded the completed images to my files, everything was fine for the first four shots. After that, everytime I tried to upload a picture from ON1 to my photo files ON1 always crashed. I contacted them and I was given instructions as to how to correct it. But it still hasn't been corrected. Does anybody have any ideas?

I too have that problem sometimes, especially when the lens motors keep putting it in and out of focus. When that happens I don't even try to correct it. I just put the lens in manual focus and focus the shot in the old fashioned wat.

For work I always use the phone to take pictures. I only use my cameras to take pictures for fun.

It is true. I can see cell phones replacing the point-and-shoot. But it will take years to compete with the quality demanded by the professional photographer/

I just downloaded ON1 software and I love it. Only I have a problem. When I try to save my photos to my files I can only do it in RAW. I want to save them to jpg. and the system isn't letting me do it. Do any of you folks have any suggestions?

For my Canon 6D I use a Canon SPEEDLITE 430 EX. It works very well for me.

When I'm developing my work in Photoshop on photos which generally don't need too much work, here's what I do. After working in Camera RAW Filter I will reduce noise. And then I will apply Smart Blur. After that I will apply Unsharp Mask, and finally Smart Sharpen. What is the best order to use in the application of these features, or does it matter?

In reference to your photo of your book shelf, I too have a Canon 7D. And I'd like to know the author of your book on the Canon 7D so I can get a copy. If you would please send me that I'd really appreciate it thank you.

Great shot. I live in Roswell, (a two hour's drive). So, I do got to White Sands from time to time. Do you live in Southeastern New Mexico, or El Paso area?

thanks. I'll do that
I did check Store Original. Here's where I probably went wrong. My settings should have been manual. Instead I did everything on auto.

Last night I made my first attempt at shooting street scenes at night. And I am very disappointed with the results. They came out to be very grainy. There was too much flair from the street lights. I did this shoot at 8:30 PM on North Main Street in Roswell, New Mexico. I used a Canon 7D with a Sigma 18-50 mm lens. Should I have used a different lens? Are there any filters I should have used?. I'm open to suggestions.
