You all have giveing me many ideas ??heavy gear for car trips and short walks and back yard Pictures,,and lighter gear for the long hikes,and outings..now to choose some light gear ??! think i may try a Canon SX60...Thanks for your thoughts

Thanks a bunch for your thoughts !? well i am going to try and lug my heavy gear for a while longer ??as i like the pics i get from it,,I also have a Canon SL1 and several STM lenes,that i find myself useing more often,,because of size and weight, and don,t see much difference in IQ the SL1 and 55-250 STM does a good job if i can get close enough ?? any one else got ideads ?? Do we give up the heavy gear ??and go with a bridge camera ,,all in one like the Canon SX60 ??
In my case i like Birding & Wildlife photos,,,Canon 50D and 400mm L ??is what i use now.
I have asked similar ??s before but still can,t decide,,,,I had a SX50 it did a good job but at about 1 1/2 years i wore it out? or i had a bad camera,,with about 10,000 clicks it would NOT focus or meter right??
I am 75 and have health problems,,,,some one give me your thoughts and what you did !!??

I sold 2=7Ds & a 70D and got 2 50Ds..i l;ike the colors from the OLD 50D !! Ron
OK ,i was in the same ""BOAT" had a bad case of G>A>S just "needed" a new camera !!??had 2 nice lighly used Canon 50Ds,but wanted a UP grade ? bought a refurb 70D from Canon ! after 6 mo of use i went back to my 50Ds and sold the 70D and bought some new GLASS,,,and very Happy with my choice,,,,BUT now the NEW 80D has came out ??? Have a SL1 also,, Just keeping what I have,,and watching out for gas attacks,,NO cure but can be controlled ?? Just my 2 cents. Ron
Up Date on my post,,Got the FZ 30,,but sent it back ! had a big scratch on lens that was NOT revealed by seller ?/also i had forgotten how much shutter lag that camera had ??so back to looking ?? Do NOT think i will be Happy with any thing less than what we have ?? A 80D might be lighter than a 50D ?? Yes I know ! just don,t think i can be Happy with a P&S again !

Well here is what i did ! this after noon i found a lightly used FZ 30 for $45.00 ??hope its agood one as ,i liked that camera,,have many pics saved in my files from the other FZ 30

Well i will look into these,,but i did not add,that i don,t want to blow my budget ??what about the Panny FZ 200 or a refurb Canon SX60 HS,, I would really like imput on the FZ200 as it has the 2.8 consant lens ?? Thanks Ron

I have 4 Canon dslr bodies and some nice glass,,but there are times i just don,t want the LOAD !
had a Panasonic FZ 30 and liked that cam,,but after 5 years and over 35K shutter clicks it was done.
then i got a Canon SX50HS,,worked fine for a couple years but after about 18K it was wore out ?? Then i got the new Panny FZ 300,,hated the menu,sent it back ??
So now I am looking again,,any help on a camera ?? don,t want a monster like the Nikon P900..

This thread is very interesting to me ! I had the SX50 and it did just what i wanted ??lighten the load,but still get good pictures,,,worked good for 2-3 years,,but my 3 year old grandaughter decided it was "DIRTY"and needed a bath ??i caught her as she dipped it in her wadeing pool the 2nd time ?? i dryed it out but it never worked the same ? I been thinking about the SX60 she is now going to be 6,,and knows she did wrong !! Got to LOVE them !! So i will follow this thread close,, any one have SX60 pics to share ??
