Until anyone has experienced the capabilities of the Photoshop for photographers at $10 /month , as far as I'm concerned it's a "GIFT" from Adobe..The sheer number of new features it is constantly adding is not only for the most part VERY useful apps, along with Lightroom (which I rarely use)..I figure it's less than a meal for 2 at "Micky-D's" once a month..I honestly don't understand why ALL who are wishing to grow with their photography. are even considering Elements, which cannot do full 16 bit editing and output...What one needs to know in full Photoshop is miniscule relative to what it offers..BUT that "sector" is worth exponentially more than the $10/month..Throw in NIK by Google (FREE!!), and you've got yourself a mind-blowing set of tools that you just cannot come close to imagining....No..I'm not on ADOBE's payroll..Just an avid photographer who could NOT manage my work without its capabilities!

I've had the Tamron G2 for a couple of weeks, and though my shooting has been limited so far, coupled with my new D500 the combination has been incredible..Understand, coming from a D7000 and an old Tokina 400mm f5.6 prime(slow but SHARP), I did mount the Nikon 200-500, but found it too limiting in zoom, and too heavy to hand-hold (along with the Sigma sport in the weight dept!)..I do believe I made the right choice..Tamron's 6 year warranty beats them all as well..Still learning, but very happy with my choice of the Tamron G2. I'm seeing some very sharp results so far!

I have BOTH, and use PHOTOMATIX when I need to balance lighting coming in through a window with, the interior lighting for example. I also use it for some special effects..Photomatix is now easier to use as they now have template examples of what you are working on might look like with various settings.. I use TOPAZ for lots of other stuff, but my "go-to" plug-in is NIK from Google..And it's FREE!!

Nikon, Tamron, Sigma and Tokina are ALL GREAT lenses..go for your best deal! ..100 mm and up to 180-200mm..If your subject will be at a longer distance where you need "space" between you and the subject , go for the longer of these lenses..If your subjects are fairly close, I'd stick with a 90-105mm Macro/Micro lens..Used ones are usually very good, and have been well taken care of..AF is a non-issue for the most part, as you will be using your focus ring manually, or pre-setting your focus, and moving your own body and lens combo in and out to get the subject in focus..A 105mm doubles for me as an excellent short telephoto for portraits! I have an older Nikkor 105mm f2.8 AF NON D which I picked up about 15 years ago for $300, and it's the sharpest lens I own!!

I've been a photographer since 1975, and with the advent of digital, I switched around 1999 and started using Photoshop..For what it costs today about the equivalent of 2 Mc Donalds meals, you get a month of CC and including the LATEST versions of Photoshop and Lightroom....It's a WIN-WIN..Why anyone would need another "main tool" is beyond me You will only get confused between these programs..Add in Nik by google for "FREE", and there's NOTHING you cannot do!..BTW..99% of my work is done in PHOTOSHOP, and not Lightroom.

I would take my Nikon 18-70 with a crop sensor Nikon body. This would give me a "28-105mm" image view.

I have found that Adobe's staff has been more than cooperative and helpful. Your adobe id is usually your email address.. . I've been on the photographer's $10/month plan, and couldn't ask for anything more..They are constantly updating and coming up with new features..much better than the "old days" of waiting 18 months for the latest version and shelling out around $200 USD.. I figure the plan is about equal to a meal for 2 at McDonald's in terms of cost, a real bargain from ADOBE!!
