I am posting about the service or lack thereof from Adobe. I subscribe to the $10.00 a month subscription. All was well untill a week or so ago when lightroom stopped.I kept trying to log on ,I kept trying whatever links ,email, or phone numbers to no avail. It is almost as though they have no records of me being a paid subscriber. I am not getting what I paid for and it is frustrating to put it mildly. I have decided to explore options and find an outfit that is a lot more customer orientated. If I can figure out how to do it I will cancel,I will notify the bank in person that I am done with Adobe.By the way, they keep telling me that I am on a trial subscription with both PH and LR.Total waste of money. About the only thing they did right was take my renewal without asking,I would have said, not interested.
I am sure some of the UHH ers will get all smart on me and blame the consumer with any type of help desk I would not be posting this.

Sorry you are having the trouble. Customer service with most companies is severely lacking in todays world, and by world I mean that a lot of tech service is farmed out to third world countries and is unbearable. Unfortunately I am hooked on photoshop and lightroom, so I will not be making any changes in the near future, but I hope you find a great alternative.

No, they are idiots! Good products, horrible service. I have one of the last copies of Photoshop CS6 on DVD-ROM (Windows). Before installing it I called Adobe just for some friendly advice and pointer on installation and set up. As soon as I said I was going to install it on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. They got all crazy, "It won't work." True Microsoft no longer supported Win Vista at that point, but that has nothing to do with their product functioning. My logic with that and other programs at the time: if it (Ps CS6) can run on Windows XP, 7, and 8 (their claim), it will run on Vista as Vista came between XP & 7. That is pretty much the situation with any programs. Well, I installed it anyway, with no problems, runs fine. In fact the same copy of Ps CS6 runs perfectly with Windows 10 on my new PC! The only issue I ever had with the "old" set up which was a hardware not software issue, was not enough memory. The old Laptop had only 4GB, then 6GB, finally 8GB as I added memory. It was pretty clunky with only 4GB. My new Desktop has 32GB RAM so no problems now with that.

Anyway, I've heard your issue with Adobe before. They are either great or suck #%&* depending on the issue (or who you talk to in India). In the past Microsoft was on my "black list" to not call. But they were great with installing Windows 10 issues. Yet, Dell was little help with my wife's desktop as soon as the warranty ran out. Virtually no free Windows help. Once the warranty runs out they act like your system has leprosy!

If you are looking for an alternative to Adobe products consider Affinity Photo. Right now it's only available for MAC, but a Windows version is in the works. I don't know when the Windows version will be available, but it's out in Beta for testing so probably not much longer. The cost is a one time $49.00. The only negative is that it does not have cataloging, so I use the Affinity tools as extensions in Photos For OS X and use Photos cataloging.

Another reason it is a shame that Microsoft took the "Gallery" and other image processing (Raw & Jpg camera DL) out of Windows 10. Sometime all you need it a "windows" tweak (to a JPG or TIF), now I have to run Ps for all image processing (I don't use or like Lr).

I guess you disregard that Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are the worldwide standard for graphics and photographic editing? That there is an incredible vareity of available plug ins, filters, tutorials, classes and books? And that professionals make their living with these two incredible tools?

That's just an ignorant thing to say. You never own anything when you "buy" software. You pay to use it. It's called rent. Whether you buy it on a version by version basis, or buy it month by month, you are only paying for the privilege of using it. You "own" nothing. This is and will always remain the software publisher's property - not yours.

Vista was a mistake. It had more problems than any MS OS ever. It was horrible. I can't blame them for not wanting to support it, especially after MS withdrew support for it. The operating system has to be robust in order for software to run properly on it. So, your assumption is incorrect. That's life.

There is one difference. When I "buy" software I have the right to use it as long as I want with no additional payments.

For that reason I think Adobe would be more concerned with good customer service in order to keep those monthly payments coming in.

These companies have to do quite a balancing act. Spend more on customer service and raise the price, which will cut into sales. Or, keep the price low, increase sales, which increases the need for customer service. The other possible effect of the rental plan may be that more people who would never spend $600 for a software package will jump at the $10 deal. That means many new users of some fairly complex software, which translates into a need for more customer service reps.

Probably the reason that Adobe almost requires that they be contacted by live chat instead of phone.

I am reminded tonight to be thankful for two things, I am retired, I've had just about every version of Windows except Vista.

Sorry to hear of your issues...I've had good luck with their online chat under support with a customer service rep...took a few moments to connect to a rep, and they had a solution/temp fix for my issue (Adobe Acrobat update problem, lost the ability to print) in about 5 minutes. Email and phone support sucks with Adobe...but the chat thing is a whole other story.

As to Adobe...as a graphic designer I live and breathe their products (unfortunately it's the nature of the beast). There's really nothing out there that's even remotely close to them when it comes to similarities/integration of tools between products (creative suite: illustrator, indesign, Photoshop, LR, and acrobat). If you want the best, you'll have to pay.

Tuck, Skip here. It maybe that your computer is loaded up with all sorts of junk and registry issues (from the internet) and all this junk is causing problems with Adobe. I had to take mine to Staples in Seabrook and have the boys unclutter my computer. It works good now. Even though I have virus protection, they found over 2,300 viruses and all sorts of registry problems.
