John, that color is the usual tint of any SOOC images I shoot. Since the request was for an SOOC, I didn't WB in ACR.

Interesting, nice color, but I’ll go with the re-work.

Larger sensors generally provide better image quality, dynamic range, etc. However, if you haven't exceeded the capabilities of your current camera, then why spend money on more equipment.

I have a Sony HX20V and am considering upgrading to a camera with a 1" sensor (i. e., a Lumix ZS100). My goal is sharper, better looking pictures, but the lens on the ZS has been criticized as "soft". Most of my viewing is on computer/tablet screens and I don't crop radically. The HX images appear reasonably sharp (to me at least). Will the images on the ZS be noticeably sharper, clearer, better when viewed?

I can handle a camera hanging loosely on a strap, but add the bouncy nature of a rubber strap and I'd never want to get near one.

I have a couple of neoprene stretchy camera straps, and I'm wondering whether they are good to use with a heavy DSLR, with a long lens and even maybe a battery grip. Are they more comfortable than a canvas strap with or without a pad, and can I trust them to carry the weight, both fabric-wise and stitching-wise.

Now, that's having fun with photography.

I had a visitor from California come to West Virginia last month who is an avid photographer (digital) and so we went out to a local state park here in WV.

I loaned him one of my Trip 35's (which he loved so much he bought from me before he left!) and we shot some black and white (Eastman Double-X)

Here are 3 shots that I printed for my cork-board at work; one of him shooting the trip, one of a blacksmith's cabin, and one of a cemetery (taken from the car window without looking through the viewfinder) I also tossed in a scan of the contact sheet just for fun.

All 3 shot on a Trip 35, Double-X, dev'd in D96 stock time and temp.

These are scans of the prints.

A couple of things. First, considering the seemingly senseless rules, I'd skip the trip. It seems more trouble than it's worth. Secondly, I've photographed in a cave a couple of times. Flash works, but I'd make a multi-layer filter for the flash. This would be of gray transparent plastic with the darker layers towards the outside and the center clear. This would be the equivalent of a VND, but with the center clear and the edges the darkest. However, you can't use flash, for whatever dumb reason, thus this useful and proven idea is worthless.

Most importantly, don't overdo it with the lights. You'd be surprised at how little light one needs once one's eyes acclimate to the environment. Most importantly, have fun. Bring two sources of light, perhaps three. I'd never go into a cave with less than three flashlights.

Our camera club has an upcoming field trip in 2 weeks to a private cave. Several members have already made the trip there to scout out the cave with the owner and while there did some test photos using off camera lighting (I think mostly small led strips). Anyway I’m looking for any lighting and technique suggestions from someone experienced in cave photography. Here is a list of available gear for me. And also the parameters and rules we must follow

Canon 5D MK II 50mm f1.8, 24-70 f2.8 Tokina , 100-400 Canon L, Tripod, monopod
Led by owner
Max group size is 20
Group must stay together
No flashes allowed
There is no natural light except at opening
No headlamps allowed
We can use flashlights pointed away from people
We can use other hand held lighting pointed away from people

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Thanks to all of you for stopping by and the kind comments and thumbs. They are appreciated.

Treepusher, I agree with you. Rainbows just really never look good in black and white. I've done sunrises and sunsets in black and white and those have worked, but rainbows just don't make it in monochrome. Thanks for looking,
Bob

Nice, John. There is enough detail and mystery to hold the viewer's attention. The goat part was funny, but not so funny...if you know what I mean.

I a€™m afraid this old boy has about had it.

Interesting side note--a now-wild, escaped wether goat has been living in this old barn far back a long-deserted lane. When I went inside to look around, he bolted from his hiding spot and scared the bejesus out of me for a second or so.

Thought I'd make and effort to see what the absolute best image I could wring out of a Sony A6500 with a Ziess lens.
My wife was out riding in our "back yard", it was a bit dusty so both horse and rider had dust masks on. Fly mask on the horse. Shot in multi-drive. 450 shots in 10 minutes.
ISO 100, Circular Polarizer.

As the rest of my gear is Canon, I found the Sony colors a bit different. Accurate but sort of antiseptic maybe. Not sure.
Resized in Photoshop for posting here.
Adobe RGB so (click on download) to view best image.

Enjoy

Nicely done, especially the composition. The house is not centrally located. Including the surrounding, especially the sky, really emphasizes the loneliness of the subject. If one wishes to give personification to a house.
