Equestrian Rider and Her Horse -- camera test.

Thought I'd make and effort to see what the absolute best image I could wring out of a Sony A6500 with a Ziess lens.
My wife was out riding in our "back yard", it was a bit dusty so both horse and rider had dust masks on. Fly mask on the horse. Shot in multi-drive. 450 shots in 10 minutes.
ISO 100, Circular Polarizer.
Raw > Capture One > Photoshop CS6 > Landscape Pro (messing around with this one) > CS6.
As the rest of my gear is Canon, I found the Sony colors a bit different. Accurate but sort of antiseptic maybe. Not sure.
Resized in Photoshop for posting here.
Adobe RGB so (click on download) to view best image.
Enjoy

I really like the unique camera angle as well as the quality of the shot. Since I've spent most of my life riding and showing, I could really relate to this shot. I won't explain the issues I had with a very sticky lip gloss vs. flies. LOL
I hope you'll post more equine shots.

Yes. Dust and flies.
Ferguss is a Hanovarian warm blood. Like a big puppy. Trained daily.
Our other horse is an Oldenburg warmblood. 21 hands. Big guy. Graceful.
Have tons of pics. Mostly dressage. Will post more.

Wish I had your macro skills. They look like the critter's going to fly off the page.

21 hands!!? Big guy indeed! Good grief! My horse at 16.1 is almost too big for me. The nice thing about showing dressage is you know what your ride times are and can plan your life around them. What level are these horses?

Wife no longer trains or shows. Retired and quiet time in her own arena and grounds.
We got both horses when they were young from solid lineage. Had no idea Zeuss was going to grow to that size. Both are around 12-15 years old now. Ridden and trained several times a week. They are both happy fellows and best buddies.

Zeuss is indeed a big fellow. And very graceful and naturally talented. Curious and smart. He taught Ferguss to play fetch and other games with various rubber balls in the fields. Few horses play that way.
Will post a couple pics.

Years ago had a 15,3 weight carrier who I witnessed playing tug -o-war with a branch of wood and a cocker spaniel on the other end.
What is this Rider wearing? Looks like a Mario Game mask.
