I set it up between D5600 and Samsung Galaxy 4 using the "SnapBridge Connection Guide for DSLR Cameras" from Nikon USA. There were some notes for Apple IOS differences.

I read the reviews on the SnapBridge Version 1 and never bothered with it. The reviews for Version 2 have been pretty good and it seems to function as advertised.

Best Buy is clearly a good option for those not near a major urban area with a camera store.

I believe that those of us who have well-stocked camera stores with knowledgeable sales staff should support them. I am an amateur with a prioritized list of wants and limited funds. I research my wants and when my experience converts a want into a need, I like having a fully stocked store and intelligent staff to help me purchase wisely. I am not a professional and I have no supporting corporate account, so I am not a major customer. But I hope he has a enough of those big bankrolls supplemented by users like me to keep his doors open. If not, I will be at Best Buy also.

LED is white flash/illuminator so is visible to people at night, but you get color. If unattended in a public area, the camera could walk away disappear.
Both Lo Glo and No Glo IR are invisible to people, but animals do sense both though it does not seem to alarm them. After dark output is monochrome.
I like video but others like stills.
I have a steel cover and lock, so I still have it.
Most use SDHC cards, but some can send real time imagery back via the internet if access is available.
Images are taken when camera senses motion. Sensing is via a fresnel lens.
Try several brands if you can as there is a wide range of prices. Talk to some hunters or wildlife biologists (use them for research). Also, camera-trapping is another smaller audience that will have a lot of knowledge.
Personally, I like Browning and Bushnell, but that is really a personal choice.

Thank you for asking and for the discussion. I have one, too.

That's why I read UHH daily.

The more I learn, the less I know.

I have a similar issue for outdoor photography and have not decided yet, but I am currently focused on sling bags. They seem to have the padding/protection of a backpack, but with improved access/readiness.

The key to successful retirement is refocusing your energy on something you enjoy. Don't vegetate.

There is nothing that says it cannot be the same if you enjoy it.

Congratulating you at the beginning of your long, happy retirement.

Not a lost cause. The differing opinions are why I read here daily. I usually learn something almost every day.

Again, the more I learn, the less I know.

But I am less ignorant.

This is why UHH is important.

All design options involve trade-offs -- cost, performance, weight, etc. Then, selections are based on user priorities. If there were no different user priorities, then there would be no need for options and one camera would fully satisfy all user needs.

The key is understanding user priorities. It is not important what one's priority is, but why that is a priority. Once I understand why it is important to someone else, it may become more (or less) important to me.

The more I learn, the less I know.

Amazon and FaceBook are currently drawing a lot of attention because of apparent political bias. They are frequently back-pedaling and apologizing, but if they do not clean up their act soon, the industry is likely to be "blessed" with governing regulations.

If a review has to be positive to be acceptable, then there is no point in having reviews. Personally, I look for reviews that contain some negative comment because I do not believe anything is absolutely flawless. To any person, some flaws matter more than others and some may not matter at all. Some flaws may not be detected/addressed by the reviewer.

I hope Amazon and FaceBook realize this and solve the problem internally before regulations drafted. They will have to hold their "censors" personally accountable and I am not sure they are willing to take that step.

What the Russians have succeeded in doing is initializing a political hatred that is seeping into everything.

Use Picaridin instead of DEET. Available in Europe and Australia since 1998 and approved for US in 2005.
Not greasy and does not react with plastics.

Thanks to all for inputs. Return policy is obviously something that I need to understand wherever I shop as both are authorized Nikon dealers.

I want a local store where I can talk to knowledgeable salespersons and trust. If I cannot find that, then I will go online.

And -- have a good trip!

Thanks.

I really want to go in person if I can find a good store and it sounds like I have two (buyers need competitive sellers).

I am south of DC on the Virginia side, so Burke and Ashburn both seem like choices.

Anyone had good/bad experience with District Camera, specifically with Nikon?

Planning to upgrade to D5600, but planning beyond that.

Looks good

I have a Nikon FM2 and now using a D-3000 and saving to upgrade to a D-5600. I also had a Nikonos III.

I can remember when Canons were not in the same league with Nikons, but the competition is now good for both Canon and Nikon.

For the buyer, competitive quality is what creates competitive pricing. You never want one brand to stand unchallenged at the top.
