I would get the Nikon 70-300 AF-P VR. Make sure its the VR version. Sharp pictures, fast autofocus, plastic mount is a drawback but its an inexpensive lens. I have one and love it.

The kit lens that comes with the D750 is the 24-120 which is a very good lens (this version). You get a substantial discount when buying it with the camera. The lens lists for $1096, the camera body is $1896, the camera & lens as a kit list for $2396 a savings of $600. To me it is a no brainer to get the lens. I would still add a primes as you need them.

Thanks everyone for your replies, they helped. I did get Macphun Luminar, have installed the latest updates and so far I like it really well. It is easy to work with, I like the presets which I use as a starting point and alter them to my taste. Have a lot to learn but having fun.

Bought several lens from Amazon all with USA warranty. If it isn't it is marked as such. Excellent return policy. Might have to pay sales tax though depending on the state you live in.

I have bought several cameras and other items from Best Buy with no problem. I returned one camera, their return policy was excellent and easy. I just bought a Nikon D7200 from Best Buy last week. One reason to buy online is to avoid state sales tax. Florida is 7% so I paid $70 which I could avoided by buying online from B&H or another reputable online dealer but I feel if I should support a local store if I use them to see and handle the product.

I have the Tokina macro lens and agree completely with the post that Thomas902 wrote.

Yes it seems to work well with both JPEG and RAW which is one thing I liked about it. I liked the pre-set filters with Luminar as well as it being compatible with Photos.

I am a newbie to hedgegog and have found the discussions helpful and informative. I currently use Mac Photos for organizing my photos and some editing, I mostly use Athentech Perfectly Clear for photo enhancement, I have the Nik Collection and Photoshop Elements also but haven't used them a lot. I shoot mainly JPEG and would welcome comments from people who are familiar with the McPhun Luminar and Creative Kit software as to how it compares with what I am using, would it be worthwhile for me to have or would I just be duplicating software I already have. What attracted me to it is that it is compatible with MAC Photos and can be opened from Photos something I can't do with Athentech or Photoshop Elements. Would welcome any comments from people familiar with this software. Thank You.

I have used B&H for over 30 years, very trustworthy. Adorama is also good but don't use them much.

Since you have an FX Nikon you might consider either the Nikon D3400 or D5500, both are as lightweight as some of the mirrorless cameras and the new Nikon 18-55 P lens is a very sharp lightweight lens. The Nikon D3400 with the 18-55 AF-P lens is $499. I am in the same situation with the Nikon D750 and not sure I want to take it on an upcoming cruise so considering a smaller DX camera or as another post suggested just taking a small prime, I have the Nikon 28mm AIS and might just take that and my 50mm.
