First off, like to thank everyone for their input on previous topics. You all helped me greatly in deciding the direction I will be taking.

Now I would like to know if anyone out there has had experience purchasing from Best Buy. Now I know it is important to support local shops, however Best Buy is offering a D750 kit with a AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens, plus other goodies, for $2399.99. While I could undoubtedly find the same deal elsewhere, I have more then a handful of gift cards that would cover nearly have the cost. So fellow UHH people what do you think?

My D610 came from Best Buy because, at the time, it was the best deal around.

If I had the gift cards, I would definitely go ahead and buy it at Best Buy. Just watch your return time limit. If an item is defective, they may have a shorter period of time in which you have to return it. You won't get that mom-and-pop camera shop warm and fuzzy feeling, perhaps, but the gift cards certainly come into play here. Or at least, for me, they would.

Makes sense to me. Plus with Best Buy if you have the rewards card you will get cash back to spend on more goodies at Best Buy. Win win!

I have had really good luck buying from Best Buy. An employee clued me in on the "open box" lenses and cameras (on the website) that you can occasionally find on their website. You can get good deals if you're not in a hurry, plus they have 12 or more months, 0% interest if you have their card.

If best buy has the best price and you have best buy gift cards that will cover half the purchase, it's a no brainer, what difference does it make what a bunch of strangers think, get to best buy before they run out of the kit you want.

Before I found this site, all I had was Costco and Best Buy ... bought my D3300 from Costco and my 18-300 lens from Best Buy (Also with a few gift cards). I ordered the lens online and picked it up at the store. No worries about damage from shipping ...

I bought my D5500 at Best Buy, they match almost everyone on price (even Amazon), you have a couple weeks after the sale to price match some more, and you get rewards if you don't choose the 0% 18 month payments on the Best Buy card (over $499). Lately where I live, Best Buy IS real close to being the "local shop."

Besy buy is the local shop where I live or Walmart. No camera shops around everywhere. I have bought several cameras from them, no problems.

Find the best deal anywhere and then have Best Buy match the deal and use your Gift Cards.

I have purchased from BB with no problems. My only issue is there can be a problem with returns at times. By all means use those gift cards.

There are very few "mom and pop" local camera stores left. So don't feel guilty about spending those gift cards. (I guess some people figure you should just throw that money away.)

Did they have a bad batch of hair dye?
