I have bought from Best Buy before myself. I always seem to have gift cards also. Plus, with a purchase of that dollar amount, see if they are offering no interest financing, unless of course you have the cash + gift cards to pay in full. I did that with a large dollar purchase and got 18 months to pay with no interest. They also offer cash rewards as well. Just check on their return policy.

I love buying from Best Buy. Perfect pricing, free shipping. They had my D800 years ago when everyone else was back-ordered. What I do not love is their Geek Squad extended warranty. I will never invest in that again. I got the three-year extended warranty. After a year, I submitted my camera for some service, and they replaced it, then considered the warranty fulfilled and that was the end of that. Nikon would have done the service for far less than it ended up costing me in unused warranty costs. I now insure my equipment through my homeowner's policy. Otherwise Mrs. Lincoln, Best Buy rocks!

An extended warranty is not an investment, it is no more than gambling with both sides gambling you will never need to use it, and as most folks know, the odds are always in favor of the house.

I got the same kit from bb. D750 with the 24-120 lens back in May of last year. Then went back and picked up my 50mm 1.8 and my 200-500mm tele. No issues at all. However I will say this not all bb's are created equal, as mentioned before. The closest one is small with a nonexistent camera dept. Yet the one the next town over is very well stocked are a relatively knowledgeable sales staff.

I think Best Buys days are numbered. In Council Bluffs we had two stores. They closed both of them before Christmas. Omaha only has one or two left.
I bought my Nikon, TV, laptop, and If B&H is cheaper I just show em on my phone. They have. always matched it.

Walmart no longer carries cameras in most instances
If you find a deal of Best Buy and you wish to compare it with another seller, use Amazon, to check and compare the price there. I you buy from Best Buy and think you found a lower price they will price match and one of the first places they go to to check is Amazon.
If you have gift cards from Best Buy you may have answered the question about where to make the purchase.
If you have a Costco card you can also check to see what their prices are on bodies and lens.
To check prices you can always go to B&H @ www.B&H.com to check the price there, as well as Adorama @ www.adorama.com usually B&H prices and Adorama will be close. You may find some special offers or rebates at one place that are not available at other sellers.
The shop local camera store of any size here in my area is closing its doors the end of February. So a local mom and pop camera store is not an option.

I used to get camera gear from "Best Buy" . . . the best part about doing that is if you tell them you saw it at xxx online for cheaper, they'll jump on the internet and look it up and give you the same deal . . . and a Nikon is a Nikon is a Nikon, right . . . but I soon outgrew their inventory and found that my local camera shop had the same prices as best buy and online, AND a much much larger selection of lenses, accessories, and everything else, and I don't have to wait for the brown truck . . . plus I'd prefer to support my local economy.

I've had pretty good luck with Best Buy. No complaints thus far.
