Lightroom, in the current release, is worth two or three times that, based on what film used to cost. Get over the price, get it from a legitimate source and enjoy the full benefits. There is no good "back door" to the full meal deal at the dirt cheap price. And, with a printer? What kind of scam is that?

Buydig is a very reputable seller and has been around a long time.

Is 83.00 a good price for Lightroom 5 full???

Buydig had it on sale last week for $68 (complete edition) with an Epson printer included in the deal. I dragged my feet for a couple of hours and they were sold out..... I wish I had pulled the trigger when I first saw the deal. LR6 should be out soon hence you're seeing the lower price.

SS, if I were in the room I'd buy you a drink. I called Canon and the tech got it in only two steps. The trick is this - on the SHOOT3 Screen, at the very bottom, HDR Mode, I had to Disable HDR. This brought back my AEB Functionality immediately. Thank you Sir.

You're welcome Bob, Glad you got it fixed and I'll keep that info. in mind for the future. In thinking about it, makes sense as AEB in essence is doing what HDR would have done anyway.

Bob, I don't use a 5lll, but you could call one of the Gurus at Canon!!
They seem to know quite a but about Canons!
They'll be glad to walk you through it while going through the menu with one of their cameras on the other end of the line. That way they see exactly what you see. It's one of the things you paid for! Good luck. ;-)
SS

Agreed ..... SS makes a valid suggestion.
Away from this thread, SS, enjoyed following your expose on composition. It was a very meaningful discussion and thank you for hosting it.

It's set to shoot mRAW + Highest Definition .jpeg

Bob, I just checked Bush's book on this and it says .... AEB is disabled when you're using flash, Multi shot noise reduction, taking long time exposures with bulb setting, or have enabled Auto lighting Optimizer in the shooting 2 menu (in which case the optimizer will probably override and nullify bracketing).

Perhaps it's the ALO setting that may have been selected that's interfering - Maybe this will solve it for you.

Not sure if this is it, but if I'm mistaken, some features are only available and show up in RAW. Maybe you've slid it into JPEG?

I don't think that's what's causing this .... I have set the AEB bracketing shooting JPEG.

I don't know how to do that.

Never mind my post (the custom modes) .... That probably won't have anything to do with anyway. I remember setting the AEB in AV and TV modes anyway ....

That's the problem ..... when I get into the AEB window to change the size and direction of the brackets, neither of the controls works on the AEB portion. They are "greyed out". I know how to adjust once I get control over that function, but something is preventing that. I have tried this in M, Av, Tv, and P modes with the same results. I even upgraded my firmware version today to be sure I had the latest. I may have a problem with the processor, but I tend to think I have something else set that is blocking out these functions.

I have David Busch's book on the 5d3. I'll give it a look to see if it's been addressed later this evening.

Did you try it in any of the 3 custom mode settings?

There are several ways to get into the AEB settings mode. I have tried Menu: SHOOT2 (screen): Expo Comp./AEB and Q Mode, then toggling to AEB Screen. In each case, then the window opens, I can set Exposure Compensation, but the controls for AEB are "greyed out". I also notice when I use the top bottom on the left hand side of the back, I have options to set to Set Picture Style and HDR, but NOT AEB. I suspect somewhere on my camera I have a setting that is interfering with setting this mode, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it might be. Can anyone give me a hint as to what else I should check? I have already tried everything on page 170 of the 5D MK III User's Manual, as well as page 315, and did an extensive Google search - no joy so far.

Thanks. Bob

Using the main dial on the +/- menu, you can activate the AEB setting bar and select the bracketing you want and using the quick dial shift the entire block in either direction of the norm. Hope this helps.

Are you in the custom mode on the dial while you try to adjust the AEB settings?

I use a Canon 7D at the moment but would like to take more landscapes and low light shots (indoor and out). Lenses I have are 50mm 1.4 , 100mm2.8 , 16-35mmF4L , 24-105L , 70-200MMF2.8 L and 400mmF5.6L. Would like to upgrade to full frame , which would you choose 5D3 or 6D.

Both are good, If money is not an issue go with the 5d3 as others have suggested. You won't be disappointed and it is quite a bit more versatile in it's capabilities.

Beginner stuff.

If you're working with a tight budget, perhaps consider a refurbed 7D and upgrade to the 24-105 L lens. You'll get much better results.

I'm always plagued by the weight of my SLR/lens around my neck while traveling and walking about all day. I want the camera handy so a belt case isn't going to work. Does anyone know of a strap arrangement that will ease the back pain that I get halfway through the day and still leave the camera ready to shoot?

Thanks!

Look into the Cotoncarrier vest. I find that I can tote 2 systems all day long with no body stress.

Since you'll be in the Asheville area here are a few places near there. Along the Blue Ridge Parkway there are countless photo ops. Don't miss Linville Falls and Grand Father Mountain. To the west of Asheville there are too many scenic places to choose from and limitless number of Waterfalls. A google search will yield you many. South of Asheville there's Lake Lure and Chimney Rock and to the east the Black Mountain area. Mount Mitchell is also not too far off.
