Top one is power. The other two have Icons that have no meaning to me.
Can anyone tell me what they do? Yes I have read the manual. Several drawings showing the panel and delineating the power button while ignoring the other two. And yes I have pressed both with no response. The printer is working very well. I am glad I bought 8.5X11 instead of 13.0X19.0 paper. That would have cost a lot more playing with it. I am also including a picture of my dog. 645 Mamiya snapshot on 100 ISO Ilford. Then I scanned the negative on an Epson V700 at 2400DPI. Very under exposed. I used a PDS Finder and it is a little out of calibration. My first shot and first pass on the process. Mighty Oaks from little Acorns grow.

I found a German Program called TurboPrint that prints on my system. I have a demo downloaded and will buy after more extensive testing. Thanks for the support and suggestions. By installing another Pro9000 on the Cups printer list I am able to print a test print page but not my pictures. The TurboPrint allows any I have tried so far.

Hard to say. Try CMYK if RGB sucks. On OpenSUSE I go to Yast and look at printer drivers there. What flavor of Linux are you using?

See if you can find a place to play with ICM files. When I choose my color printer, I get a few more tabs on my print dialog. You might find some settings to mess with.

I am running Fedora 18. I am going to try both the others later today. I think Yast may be something like yum.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I think Oddjobber would like to compare specs on some lens without mounting on a camera. I doubt if you would find much difference between comparable lens. Otherwise an external light meter would not work well.

New Canon PRO9000. Prints look like the monitor in WINXP. In Linux it looks something like color reversal but not really. One photo is a yellow Cub. The brightest yellow is yellow. The less bright is more like magenta. Shadows are darker than the surrounding area. I had a setup choice of RBG or CYM or CYMK. I took RGB. Any comments and or suggestions.

Thank you both for your replies. I am getting one today. For $175 it is too cheap not to get. I have seen estimates as high as $12.00 in this forum for printing. I did not see how it could cost that much.

The following is from:

http://www.redrivercatalog.com/cost-of-inkjet-printing-canon-pro9000-pro9500.html

If I am reading the Canon 9000 data correctly, a Canon Pro 9000 costs for ink costs in Dollars:

Using the CEU figures, we’ve extrapolated the cost of ink by print size (roughly 100% coverage)

$1.93 for a 13X19 full coverage print.
And with R2400 Ink?? it would cost $12.25. I don't know what R2400 Ink is. But the data shows a much lower cost than I expected.
Any comments after reading the report?

My Samsung ML2510 Is fine for printed documents but terrible at best for grey shade images. I leave off until I want to print something. I have a Canon 9000 coming Friday for photo printing. I know it costs more but I like to do it my self.

After reading all the info here I went to the Epson Site and ordered an Epson Perfection V700 for $415.00 delivered. This over $200 less than new. I am a film guy but this will bridge the gap for me.

Good vision gives about one second of arc resolution, NOT absolute, your mileage may vary. At about one and a half foot viewing distance this is, again, about, 200 pixels per inch. Some will be better some worse. The eye will respond to up to four times that, but not really see the dots. Laser Print Printers in general have 600 DPI for this reason. More doesn't look any better. I have not done any in depth analysis of printers . Just a lot of CRT work. It would seem to me this would make an 800 DPI printer good for normal photography viewing. Photo Print Paper, the darkroom type, run about twenty to forty DPI. 35mm film is about 100 line pairs per mm best case. Do your own math for max print size. If you use a Loupe for viewing your prints then more is better. I am not an expert just seen a lot over a long life.

I purchased the SX50 a couple of months ago. I have posted quite a few photos on this site, but I wanted to share some of the very first pictures I took. I got the camera late in the afternoon and these pictures were taken after 6pm as the sun was setting. I stood in my front yard and looked up and took a shot. Then I zoomed in to the tiny white line in the sky, and the next shot is that zoomed photo. They aren't the best photos, but you wanted to see how the zoom worked. I couldn't be happier. The EVF is not the best I have used, but it is certainly not the worst either. I love my SX50!

That is the best demonstration of why I should get that camera that I have ever seen.
Thank you for sharing,

I only need reading glasses. With an SLR no glasses work fine.
