Red River Ink cost data question.

The following is from:
http://www.redrivercatalog.com/cost-of-inkjet-printing-canon-pro9000-pro9500.htmlIf I am reading the Canon 9000 data correctly, a Canon Pro 9000 costs for ink costs in Dollars:
Using the CEU figures, weve extrapolated the cost of ink by print size (roughly 100% coverage)
$1.93 for a 13X19 full coverage print.
And with R2400 Ink?? it would cost $12.25. I don't know what R2400 Ink is. But the data shows a much lower cost than I expected.
Any comments after reading the report?
My Canon 9500i printer costs me around USD 1.50 per A4 print including the cost of paper. Paper is Ilford Galerie, ink is genuine Canon. So, yes, the RedRiver test is pretty accurate.
I had the 9000 M2, moved to the 9500 M2 for the pigment inks. Love both. The Red River cost specs appear accurate from my experience.

Thank you both for your replies. I am getting one today. For $175 it is too cheap not to get. I have seen estimates as high as $12.00 in this forum for printing. I did not see how it could cost that much.

The cost of the paper and the size can have a startling effect on cost. An A3 sheet of premier archive museum rag printed with pigment inks can run to USD12.00, no problem.

Paper choice will certainly effect total cost, you can still do quite nicely using top grade papers purchased from good outlets like Atlex, Amazon, and Adorama.
I priced out four high quality art papers as an example. Moab Exhibition Luster 300gsm; Hahnemuele Photo Rag Satin 310gsm; Moab Entrada Rag Bright 300gsm; and Hahnemuele Photo Rag Bright 310gsm. All based on boxes of 13x19 sheet paper. Prices varied from a low of $1.66 per sheet (Exhibition Luster) to $4.13 per sheet (Hahnemuele Satin).
This translates to average cost per 13x19 print on the Canon 9000 of $3.64 -$6.11 USD per print based on Red River's ink cost estimates. . Not bad at all for prints on high quality art paper!
If you go with the Canon 9500 pigment ink paper, price jump a little to $4.12 - $6.59.
I think they should give you a free printer with the purchase of three ink refills, because that is basically two to three hundred dollars.
