Appreciate the positive comment. Plan to go back later this year when the days are shorter and shot at dusk and night.
Spent a little over 3 hours there and shot around 100 pictures. 6 pictures are in "New Topics" Getty Museum April 4(17:52:45). Would appreciate any comments you might have.
Thanks, John. I appreciate the positive feedback.
Thanks to Brent Harder, I went to the Getty Museum. Unfortunately, not all the beautiful flowers were in bloom. Spent 3 hours there and finally my 80 year old body said, "Enough." Anyway, here are some of the photos taken.
Don, Good pics. Never saw a covered bridge until I was in Eugene, which, by the way is beautiful. Been there a few times and drove along the coast from Florence to Newport with stops at Hecater Lighthouse, Yachats and Yaquina Lighthouse. Gorgeous. Here are a few pics.
Sky was dull, so I added a sunset
Hector Lighthouse from overview
Converted to B/W, but kept the light in color
Sahali Falls
Brent, if they are as good as yours, I will. Anyway, hopefully this week if it doesn't rain.
Great shots, Brent. The Getty Museum is just a few miles from where I live. Been years since I've been there, but now I know where I'll shoot next
I purchased a Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC wide angle lens for my Canon 50D. Sharp, fast AF. Great for shooting in small areas and landscapes. Shoot close and the effects are great.
If you like to shoot wide angle, then may I suggest the Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 EX DEC. Fast, quiet AF and sharp. Great for indoor or tight areas and landscapes. Here's a photo taken at a car museum. Got in close at 10mm. Whatever you choose, good luck.
Sorry about that. I thought I saw it in stock. Must be that my 80 year old eyes are playing tricks on me. Anyway those are very reputable camera stores and I buy from them.
Adorama and B&H Photo have them in stock. $1069.99. Shipping is free(standard) unless you want to pay for next day or express. No sales tax(savings in itself) except for N.J. Unless you have a very steady hand, use a tripod.
I've bought from both. Cameras, printers, scanners, etc. and never had a problem. Both keep me updated on my purchases. When I called, their sales reps were very knowledgeable. Their prices are about the same. Best of all, not charged sales tax and shipping is free.
Doesn't look like motion blur at such a fast shutter speed. Background looks a bit sharper which makes me think you used the one shot focus instead of Al Focus or Al Servo which will track and follow focus. Cute picture of what little kids like to do when they see a puddle.
You might be using a slow shutter speed and since the moon moves you are getting a blurred, what seems unfocused picture.
Use a tripod and manually focus. Set ISO from 200-400. Go with manual exposure setting shutter speed of around 1/125-1/250(the moon moves). Don't use a low f-number. Use an f-number from f11 to f16. Using a low f-number will blow out the moon to look like the sun. Finally, use a cable or remote shutter switch or you could move or jolt the camera and get blurred results. Experiment within those settings and you should get excellent results. Good luck.
