I would absolutely recommend the photographers tour of the slot canyons in Page AZ.
Is that the same as Antelope Canyon? My buddy & I took the Photographer's tour of the Upper Antelop Canyon last year & it was outstanding!! Have thought about going to the Lower Canyon. Are there other slot canyons near Page?
Photoman022 ... excellent suggestions. Hadn't thought about contacting the state tourism departments.
Thank you. Also like your idea of taking different routes & we will try to avoid the Interstates.
mizzee ... great suggestions ... thank you. I may try to post some images but I find that after I do PP on my old laptop & share images, I frequently wish I'd waited until I got home to edit them on my big monitor. But I might just try.
cyclespeed ... also great suggestions ... some I hadn't heard of. Thanks for making them.
Frederick ... went to Lake Louise years ago & hope to go there this trip. Hadn't gone to the Columbia Ice Fields or taken the bus up atop the ice fields. Sounds like something we should do. Thank you. And yes, I bet they are "cool". ;)
wds0410 ... never had seen that site ... fantastic suggestion ... going to forward that to my buddy as well.
Thank you much.
Normanthegr8 ... the Harley Museum is a great suggestion ... either this trip or the next. Thank you.
Traderjohn ... thanks for the AAA suggestion. I'm a member but hadn't thought about their trip advice. Thanks.
Architect1776 ... WOW!!!! Those were wonderful suggestions ... I'm sending them to my buddy so we can research them a bit. Thank you ... thank you ... thank you!!!!! And you're right about AZ ... love that state.
Thank you Shellback ... hadn't heard of Roadtrippers, so I'll look them up. Would love to do it on my bike but we're taking my dog, so have to leave the bike at home. Appreciate the good wishes.
Retired CPO ... first, thank you for your service (assume you were Navy or CG ... I was USMC). And yes, your comments are all good suggestions. Current trip estimate is a month & a half, but even that may be tight. I have driven all over the country several times (+ lived in the West), so I understand your comment re: the distances. Last year, we did a similar trip to the SoWest & there was so much we didn't see, that we elected to do it again. Good point re: the drive to SD. I loved the Badlands as a youngster & want to shoot them, but it may be a casualty. And yes, we are looking at books as well, but wanted to tap into the expertise at UHH also. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Thank you Richard ... went to Bryce last year & you're absolutely right ... it was awesome as was Zion. Thanks for responding.
Yes ... it's our big trip this year. And agree on memory cards. Thanks for responding.
My buddy & I are planning a photo tour starting in New England & heading SoWest to the Cactus Forrest near Tucson, then heading Northerly to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Mesa Verde, Badlands in SD, Grand Tetons, Yellow Stone, Glacier NP, up the Rockies into Canada for Jasper & Bannf NPs before turning Easterly back across Canada to New England.
Looking for suggested sights along those routes that might include great Rt 66 sights, old trains, old cars or motorcycles, wildlife or other photo opportunities along the way.
Nice set of shots. It is a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing.
Nice shots. Thanks for sharing.

Great link bsprague ... it addresses something I've been struggling with.
Outstanding shots. Thanks for sharing.
Nice series ... looking forward to the next batch.
