I am almost always alone. My husband does not like to go with me on a regular basis as he does not have the slightest interest in photography and not much in nature either. My family is also similarly disinterested as well. I find that it's really hard to set up a shot and concentrate with disinterested people around- I always feel (internally) pressured to hurry. Even with people with an interest in photography I find it can be a challenge being with someone that does not have complimentary interests. Most of my excursions are in populated areas, rarely do I head off alone to isolated places. In the event that I do I usually convince my husband to go too and he is agreeable.

Sounds like a lot of control issues going on here.

Try cropping at her head instead of her shoes :)

I believe GENorkus is a smart, respectable guy (tho we don't always agree), that is why I responded to him. Perhaps gaffers tape would be helpful to curb your constant anger. /Ralph

Beautiful granddaughter! Lovely images all. There is something especially appealing (to me) about that B&W image but I think it would benefit from closer cropping-

Do you still have the Think Tank expanding holster for $30? How much would shipping be to 81147?
Thank you!

No sorry that is gone.

I Am Crazy Like You !!
I do this all the time !! I love the trying different cameras and lenses - so I buy used ones (or gray or refurbs) then have fun with them for 6 months or so - then sell. It's fun, and I feel like I learn so much by using all the different gear. Ive bought and sold too many cameras to count. And like you said way less expensive than my other hobby - showing Hunters and Jumpers - that's averages about $2000 a month.
And like you - I have even bought some twice !!!
Right now I'm trying a mirrorless Lumix GX8, I bought gray on ebay for 699 - and the 35-100 2.8 I bought "open box" for 300 ish. It's been a super fun camera, not ready to sell it yet - but soon something else will catch my eye.
I Am Crazy Like You !! br I do this all the time... (show quote)

WOW- what a concept!! Sounds like a way better way to do it than what I've done!

I must admit a fascination with bags as well; amazing deals out there...I got a Cotton Carrier duo for $29, a fabulous Lowepro $125 bag for $15! Low prices reflect a bias against used bags, kind of like buying a used shirt. Most of my bags came as part of a camera/lens/etc purchase.

If you want used bags I have plenty. Great shape. Some only used a couple of times. Check out classifieds yesterday- "I've got bags"

Lovely image! Beautiful birds. When in Oregon last summer I saw many loons but they never came in close enough. So my loons looked like black dots.

Thank you. I was surprised too. It was a little awkward but he managed quite well.

merrytexan-
I haven't done any kayaking-yet- so no need for waterproof camera-yet :) The Willamette River goes through Salem Oregon (I spend summers there) and many do kayak- maybe this year will be the year. Olympus makes a point and shoot waterproof, shock proof camera that gets pretty good reviews. Not too expensive and easily picked up retail at Target, Walmart, etc.

How fun! Especially love the lake view image (#1). Did you take a water proof camera with you?
