Thank you DJPhoto ... look like excellent suggestions. Some time ago, I did see a reference to "The Most Scenic Drives in America" but had since forgotten. So thank you for that suggestion as well as for Waterton & the other destinations you mentioned. All great advice. Thank you for responding.

There is nothing any of us can say that will lessen the pain from losing a loved one. I hope you, her family & other loved ones are able to find some peace. Nice shot of her that will likely make her memory seem all the more present.

Outstanding Cowboydid2 ... several definite stops. Appreciate the additional text.

PS: Also explored the 2 websites & purchased the map series & a couple of books. Thanks.

cowboydid2 ... Wow!!!!! Just went to look at one of the links on the photo ... excellent. As often as I've looked for Rt 66 sites, I've never seen that one!!!! Going to look at all their products tomorrow. Thank you. And a question for you given you live in OK ... a friend of mine stopped at a Rt 66 museum in OK that was supposed to be excellent. Unfortunately, she can't remember where it was. Any idea? Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks David ... we this is the 2nd trip I've done with my buddy ... good news is we tend to be flexible ... stop often as you say ... & take more photos than we'll ever use ... & we are perfectly willing to change our schedule if something worthwhile comes along. Thanks for the good wishes. PS: Used to live outside of Austin ... been gone over 20 years & still miss it.

stumbo ... you are 100% correct ... both are beautiful places. My buddy & I did a trip last year out to the SoWest with Arches & Canyonlands both on the agenda. They were fantastic. But thanks for the suggestion.

williejoha ... thanks for the clarification on Upper vs. Lower Antelope Canyon. Appreciate it.

Dossile ... thanks for some great suggestions ... & some definite "to do's". Great idea about calling the Ute reservation. Hired a guide in Monument Valley last year & it was a fantastic experience.

And a general, overall thanks to UHH for some wonderful suggestions & good wishes. Much appreciated. You've given us a lot of homework!!!!

Cambriaman ... thanks for the reccomendation ... I went to Bryce & Zion last year ... both were really amazing places. Thanks for responding.

SusanFromVermont ... thanks for the kind wishes from the SW Corner of the Green Mtn state. I live up just So. of Barre. Appreciate the good thoughts & think you're right about time to fit all this in. We may have to cut some things out ... but it's great having options. Best to you & thanks for responding.

aellman ... thanks for the referrals. Although he might deny it, I consider my buddy one of "the authorities" on the Maine coastline & you're right, there are some awesome places to shoot. I've captured your suggestions for follow-up during some shorter trips from here at home. Thank you for that.

David in Dallas & Jimsr44 ... thank you both for the Durango - Silver & the coach suggestions. Those sound like definite "to do's". As Retired CPO & others have said earlier, this is squeezing a lot into a month & a half.

Geannie & Retired cpo ... thank you ... appreciate the follow-up on Antelope.

David in Dallas ... amazing shots. I went to your flicker account & think it will take me days just to peruse all those photos. Wow!!!! Thank you for those. And the GPS is interesting. I will consider that. I'm lucky in that all my camera bodies have GPS in them (Canon 5dIV, 6d & 7dII) which will be very useful on a trip like this.

914Cathy57 ... 1st of all, welcome to UHH & thanks for the comment on Antelope ... amazing place.

PRodacy ... you're right about spending a summer in any one of these states. We're trying to squeeze a lot into a month & a half ... really appreciate the referral to the railroad site & ride. That sounds like a "to do". And the drives ... those are precisely what we're looking for. And thank you for your kind offer to meet ... if for no other reason, maybe get together to break bread. I'll try sending a private message with more precise trip info. I will say, you're demonstrating one of the things I appreciate about UHH. While there are a few cranks on the site, most folks seem to be really decent & helpful. Thank you for that.

eO26441-yahoo.com ... welcome to UHH as well & thanks for the Canyon de Chelly referral. I didn't know that site & just did a quick look up of it. Looks very interesting & it's doesn't appear to be that far out of the way from where we'll be. Definitely will look into that. Thank you.
