Thanks MtMan, good wife got nearly the same shot, but just a microsecond later, so I choose the better of the two. John

What a fabulous shot, and sepia tone adds to it!

Actually this is the color that came from the camera as it was a dull overcast day. Thanks for the nice comment

After looking at (and admiring) the "ass" pic today in, http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-449848-1.html ,I recalled this one in the archives, so decided to post it. 5d3, 24-105 @at 105. Taken in Hill City SD last fall. A bit of humor is a good way to finish the day. C&C welcome. John

Going through my shots from last fall in Badlands NP, SD and thought I'd share an action shot rather than just a landscape.
Canon 5d3, 100-400L IS ll, and a bit of Picassa for tuneup. C&C welcome. John

I guess you can read the quote however you want; obviously we read it differently, nuff said. Besides, too busy to get into a pissing contest.

Amazing what a so-called "kit" lens and entry level camera can do when all of the conditions connect just right between camera and lens.

Read the 5th paragraph again, Apaflo --

"Here's one that never gets discussed among sports, action and wildlife shooters, but which our engineers HAVE said is a benefit of Image Stabilization, even at the fastest shutter speeds."

Here is the dope direct from Canon Engineers via Bryan @ The Digital Picture. This just might clear up some misconceptions I see here on the Hog.

Great company, I bought one from them recently and it was brand new in the box. Also over the past year I've purchased a Canon 24-70f4 and 16-35f4, both like new. John

Nice collection.

Thanx DeanS, We had a great trip to the Black Hills and surrounding area, even went to the annual Buffalo roundup, around 1300 critters--a real sight to see.

Nice shots.

Thanx jaymatt. Interesting city in the center of so many beautiful scenic locations-lots of wildlife potential. We spent five days there and did not see everything. I would highly recommend it as a vacation destination for photographers. Teddy Roosevelt Nat. Park is only a few hours north in North Dakota-lots of animal life there as well, including snakes. This big guy was not happy, and cocked for action!
