Ignoring it as much as possible, told the girl friend when I met her 12 or so years ago to forget Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries ect, they're just all over commercialized.
We buy/do things for each other often, just found it so much more satisfying to give when we feel like it not when we're scheduled to.
As for family, I have 2 brothers and a sister with-in 25 miles, haven't seen or heard from any of them in 5 yrs and don't miss any of them, and I'm positive they think the same way about me.
One thing I do like about this time of year is the polar bear swim in the Columbia on New Years Day. Participated 12 of the last 20 years.
I hope you all have Peace and Happiness in you're lives this Christmas as for me I wish for Peace and Quiet which will bring happiness!
Merry Christmas

Saw this headstone at a place I have walked around a lot over the last the last 60+years,
5 miles from home now.
Over the years never really thought to much of the headstones, until this time out, I started thinking about his marker.
His family, his friends. Do they know?
I would like this to be shared
Close by is where the Columbia and the Pend' Oreille rivers join, stone through from the CDN/ US border, this can be seen in the last frame, the cut in the mountain, upper left.
I hope someone might recognize this gentleman's name, family might be interested where he rest ,or might know someone that might - “what ever happened to Richard Hill?”
Richards grave site, this from Google Earth: 49 00'23,24 N, 117 36' 15.95W .
Found out “Somerset” is a county in South West England, I thought it was a city.
Along with a lot of others,,except for the ones underground , this was before the fence, someone got in torn up the place, all the headstones where moved ,the volunteers who saved what they could .
I hope this get passed on to the people that it should

I took this a couple weeks ago at a local park (Gyro). A bright sunny day, no people perfect.
The river (Columbia) is very low for this time of year, the powers that be are holding in back up stream for some reason.

Swede you are lucky that the ravens did not attack Scoot. Interesting story. Thanks for sharing.
That's what I was thinking, so was he I believe he came down in a hurry and faster into the house

I'm not sure if this is the right spot, but here goes
While outside last week doing some yard winterizing at the side of the house I hear a bunch of ravens making a hell of a racket, So I walk around back and look up and in the tree, 20 ft from me, in the upper branches were about 20 ravens going crazy, the neighbour came around the corner and asked what's going on. I looked again and saw the reason. In the first photo you can make out the reason, second one is the culprit- Scoot, he got down no problem. When he was in the house, didn't take very long, the noise stopped and I counted 24 ravens

Good question, I don't have the answer!
Hope someone does and shares it with us
