Excellent set Joe showing the different harbor views. Interesting narrative as well.

Thanks Vince, glad you like these harbor views - and the harbor itself does have quite a story to tell!

I've never been there, but your fantastic shots just confirm what my many students from there have told me
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Thank you Joe, yes it is really quite a harbor, busy with plenty of large and small boat traffic, and the steep hill on Hong Kong Island on one side and and immense amount of tall and taller buildings on both sides of the harbor - really quite exciting!

Beautiful set, Joe! I was only out in the bay once and you have better shots than I remember.

Thanks Mike - I used to spend a lot of time on these ferry boats when that was the only way to cross the harbor. Now we still use them occasionally for nostalgic reasons and to enjoy the views during the transit.

Nice series, Joe. Do you know why the Star ferries have those tires all around the upper levels?

Thank you Barbara. Good observation and good question! Obviously, the tires are used to cushion the impact from the boat hitting the structure of the pier. The few black tires at the bottom level achieve this protection. While I cannot find any information on this subject, I think the white "tires" at the upper level serve as life belts.

Thank you for these beautiful photographs of life in Hong Kong! The quantity of product on display dwarfs what I see in the produce section of our biggest supermarkets in town here. Do these merchants sell all their product in a day, or two? Some of it looks like it might spoil pretty quickly (except the 1000 year old eggs - they’re probably good for another millenia).

Stan

Thank you Stan, glad to hear that you enjoy these photos. The Wan Chai market is known to be one of the busiest in Hong Kong and volume and diversity of the offerings attest to that. I would very much assume that most of these produce will be gone by the late afternoon - and I like your tongue-in-cheek thought of these eggs lasting "another millennia"!

Love the images of the fresh green vegetables. Look inviting this time of year in Colorado. I'm ready for our farmers this summer. Love the sign for the bus. Nice series - looking forward to more images.

Thank you Rowedean, they certainly do look inviting, particularly at this time of the year for us when things can be rather bleak around us.
