The highest temp in Minnesota last year was 102F and the coldest was -28F. That's a 130 degree difference.

Knew it got very cold but didn't realize it got so hot there.

This mushroom walks into a local pub, sits down, and yells for the bartender to bring him a cold beer. The barkeeper comes rushing over and screams "Go on, get outta 'ere, we don't serve yer kind." The mushroom looks up meekly and whines "Why?" "I'm a fun guy."

Well let's see. I couldn't improve pictures one or three so let me get out my magnifying glass for nĂºmero two. This picture might look better with a closer crop. That would take out some of the water and accentuate the pelican and that great shadow he is casting. I think all three are very nice shots.

C&C please.

I like the photo and think the orientation actually works here. Don't worry about cropping off part of the top of the head. It's frequently done purposely in portrait photography.

It worked. Nice photo and I've seen that bird before and he's still wearing that mask.

I thought I'd see what Ken Rockwell had to say about shooting RAW. Apparently he doesn't think too much of it. I don't know that he discussed portraits. Here's the link.

I agree with Ken, but it's fun to talk about, like Nikon vs Canon, Mac vs PC. It helps forums to grow. Besides, saying you shoot in "raw" adds a sense of professionalism and mystique to others. Wow, you only shoot in raw?

Thanks for the C&C everyone. I'm kinda partial to the first photo myself. It's a bit different than the textbook bug shot. I like the lines and it's simplicity. Make sense?

Very nice photo. Perfect composition. I favor the b&w of the two. A green amateur could not take that photo, good job.

Since you have a tripod, for your landscapes shoot at the lowest ISO you can and the smallest F stop, for the telephoto make sure you are shooting at a high shutter speed. Happy hiking.

Not exactly a prize winning shot, but got it by accident and thought it was funny.

Send it in to the so-called History Channel. They will do a documentary on it.
