Although there is an "ominous" feel to the portrait, which is its own story, I feel the landscape shows the beauty of the sky which may be what you were after.

Great set. I LOVE #2. That must have been so exciting; to know what's under those horns and anticipate it coming into view!

Beautiful photograph and beautifully matted. The mat picks up the dark tones of the duck. On my monitor the mat is black.

Desolation, sadness; how long has it been there? has it been there so long that Nature has taken over? who placed it there and why? was it once a refuge where someone escaped to fish in silence, but no longer? I think this is a photograph with a story!

I went for an image that was brighter and more abstract with extreme noise reduction to the sky.

I really like "Lonely Vigil" - it succeeds in conveying solitude.

I know this is very late, Sue, but i wanted to thank you for your lovely words about my "Bench" photograph. I'm so glad that you felt I succeeded in conveying my message.

I may be the exception, but I prefer the first b&w. There are more shadows evident in the snow, and it seems more defined. But definitely, snow seems to call for b&w. Great work!

Driving along the Payette River in Idaho yesterday, December 22, the last thing I expected to see was a group of kayakers. My car thermometer read 28 degrees. This is not the best photo, technically, that I shot but the expression is priceless.

Quite agree with you. That expression is priceless! Terrific capture.
