Anyone has any comments on the HP Lazer Jet Pro 400 Color M451? That is what we've had for many years and never have any trouble. Sure it was expensive($$$) but I don't have to buy ink or unclog these messy little jets. It was made in China where labor is inexpensive and their expertese is admired by many--I am satisfied with the printing and photos it puts out. From my Apple computer I send my work via wi-fi to my printer. I've had my fill of inks and clogs!!

Laser jets great printers, had B/W laserjet printer loved it never a problem.

I like 2 the best also, the dog seems to put the vast expanse of the area into perspective.

Nice photos, I love snow! I moved to Upstate NY from the city when I retired. I got more snow my first Winter up here then I had seen in my whole life. We got a total of 330 in. Every year since it's been close. Snow starts in October and goes thru till April.

I have always printed my own photos. In the old days I shot mostly B/W, which I processed. I then started shooting color transparencies and loved being able to control the color saturation in processing. When digital became prevalent I invested in a couple of inkjet printers, my favorite being the Epson 1800, gave me beautiful 13 x 19 prints. Last purchase was a Kodak digital printer, loved it when it worked properly, which wasn't too often.

Nice shots! We don't get to much in the way of bird life up here. Their are Snow Owls, but I haven't seen any and we get a glimpse of hawks and Eagles. In the Winter months the State Police take all the road kill up to one of the local reservoirs and throw them on the ice, brings the Eagles out.

Some nice photos and composition. Watch out for the aquarium bar that cuts into the beluga photo.

Thank you, afraid not much room or time to try to avoid structure of tank, I no it's a distraction.

Today would have been easier with PS, that image taken over 50 years ago with Leica IIIf and 50mm Summicron.

Great set Patman1. The third shot looks like a Christmas card. I don't know what that is in the second shot, although it is very interesting. All of these are interesting images. Love the horse, and the cathedral in the last shot.

That was a smoking area at TWA airport. The challenge to me with that photo was the fact that the area itself was dimly lit and the runway area outside was pretty bright. As I figured, even with multiple photos I couldn't get both area functional. Good thing it was film, PlusX, I believe, I was able to dodge and burn to light both area properly.

Too much of anything can be boring, I didn't want to over do it.

The beluga looks like he's laughing at you or maybe it's a joke you told it. Nice catch! I really like the next-to-last shot of that rose. Do you happen to know the name of it? I'd like to have it growing in my yard.

The Beluga saw me trying to get a photo of my daughter who was standing by the glass, she was trying to get his attention. All of a sudden he charged at the glass , mouth open and blowing bubbles. I had the camera all set up so just as he was ready to impact glass snapped this photo. I had bought that Rose plant for my mother about 60 yrs ago, she loved Rose's, I don't remember their name sorry.

I love the โ€œOld Mastersโ€ painterly quality of the decanter and glass image. Iโ€™m guessing that is a film image?

Thank you, but it is digital from my Kodak.

This is my third week with my camera and I have noticed that I am "seeing" things differently; finding myself stopping and saying that would make a great shot. This forum has opened my eyes to alot of things...before when I would first see a post thinking it was beautifully perfect then read the criticisms I had to go back and look for them, now when I look at a post and it catches my eye, I then look at the composition, color and lighting and try to determine what made it so appealing to me while others I wonder "what were they going for" how would I make this shot...I guess I'm studying them more. I've even noticed that when I get that "that looks like a good shot" feeling and I pick up the camera and look through the view finder and try to see the shot sometimes it just isn't there, it just vanishes. Well heading out for a "real" practice shoot tomorrow; driving 3 hours to go to "Grounds for Sculptor" near Princeton NJ to study the 270+ sculptors they have to view and see if I can capture anything in all its' splendor; I will be focusing on composition (rule of thirds, different angles, etc) and how to work with natural light so that I won't have as much pp.
This is my third week with my camera and I have no... (show quote)

Sounds like a great day in store for you, You have the right idea, composition is the key to capturing that exceptional image, take your time. You have to visually plan and compose to capture that image that brought you to stop and look in the first place. Good luck, have a great day!
