...'Cause I don't want to read whining about how much people hate snow when we need it so badly here. In this one storm we probably got more snow than fell all last winter, and there's another storm on the way. I live in a mountainous region of southwest New Mexico where increasing scarcity of water is a daily reality, so this kind of snowfall (like we got in the good old days) is welcome, as is the deep freeze accompanying it--maybe it will slow the advance of the pine bark beetles. Also, it will create my favorite scenes to photograph in the winter: ice formations. For now, though, here are just some shots of a very pretty hike along a primitive road.

I like snow, as long as it's other peoples' snow.

Thank you. I love watching snow fall out of trees, and got cold feet waiting for it to happen.

Those are beautiful. And the freezing weather will also kill scorpions, I think!

Well I've never seen one up there...but there was one in our house!

Very nice set.

If you get too much snow, send the excess to the Cascades. We are getting enough moisture but too much of it is rain which doesn't stay around long enough to be there when it is needed.

Lovely scenes, not afraid of some snow.

I don't think we'll get too much, but I hope you get what you need. Thanks for looking.

SW, I like all of these photos, and find the 4th one to be quite artistic! At times I silently curse my 250 foot steep driveway that I have to clean after each snowfall, but realize that snow here is a much needed form of precipitation which, additionally, often makes for some great shots. Hope that you get a lot more.

The snow just tops off the scenery, looks like topping on desert.

Great set, but for some reason my crew thinks the second photo is the best.

Thanks. That sounds like a lot of driveway! Yes, snow here is a promise of water for the future, as well as being beautiful.
