This is my third week with my camera and I have noticed that I am "seeing" things differently; finding myself stopping and saying that would make a great shot. This forum has opened my eyes to alot of things...before when I would first see a post thinking it was beautifully perfect then read the criticisms I had to go back and look for them, now when I look at a post and it catches my eye, I then look at the composition, color and lighting and try to determine what made it so appealing to me while others I wonder "what were they going for" how would I make this shot...I guess I'm studying them more. I've even noticed that when I get that "that looks like a good shot" feeling and I pick up the camera and look through the view finder and try to see the shot sometimes it just isn't there, it just vanishes. Well heading out for a "real" practice shoot tomorrow; driving 3 hours to go to "Grounds for Sculptor" near Princeton NJ to study the 270+ sculptors they have to view and see if I can capture anything in all its' splendor; I will be focusing on composition (rule of thirds, different angles, etc) and how to work with natural light so that I won't have as much pp.

This is my third week with my camera and I have no... (show quote)

Sounds like a great day in store for you, You have the right idea, composition is the key to capturing that exceptional image, take your time. You have to visually plan and compose to capture that image that brought you to stop and look in the first place. Good luck, have a great day!

Great set Patman1. The third shot looks like a Christmas card. I don't know what that is in the second shot, although it is very interesting. All of these are interesting images. Love the horse, and the cathedral in the last shot.
