I have it and I love it. In fact, I have two... one in black and one in chrome. As I write this I'm at a resort in Malaysia, and have taken over 4,500 shots in two weeks. The camera is a dream to use and delivers great photos. I particularly like the Df's size and weight, and with a 35-70 f2.8D or 17-35 f2.8D have worn it around my neck for virtually every moment of my vacation. The distinctive non-typical DSLR look of this camera has drawn numerous compliments. I don't understand why some people object to the Df, and don't at all miss the lack of video functionality... this is a real near-pro camera that's exceptionally well built for still photos. And yes, I'm a guy who's over 50 years old who started talking photos with 35mm Nikon and Canon film cameras back in college, and as soon as I discovered the Df in late 2014, immediately fell in love with it. It's a blast to use, and has totally reignited my passion for still photography... as the Nikon advertising promises. While at full retail it's a tad pricey, consider buying refurbished directly from nikonusa.com. I did (twice), and have absolutely no regrets.

I've both bought from and sold to Keh.com and in all instances have found them to be reliable and trustworthy. Their ratings generally seem to be on the conservative side, and the lenses I've purchased from them are usually in better condition than rated. Sign up on their email list and they will advise you of their frequent sales and discount codes. They claim to be the largest online used camera equipment retailer, and typically have over 200 models of Nikkor lenses available. They also claim their used equipment ratings scale is the industry standard. The Keh telephone customer service staff I've dealt with on several occasions is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I recommend them very highly as my main alternative to the riskier eBay approach for used equipment.

Two years ago I upgraded from a Nikon D7000 to a full-frame Nikon Df and the improvement in photo quality -- and my interest in photography -- was exponential. Not only was I mesmerized by the physical appearance of the Df as well as the camera's mechanics, but the overall build and quality feel of the Df was night and day compared to the D7000. I also appreciated the Df's smaller size and unique "retro" design compared to Nikon's other "serious amateur" or "pro" cameras, which makes carrying it around even with heavy pro Nikkor FX lenses fun and pleasurable, with rewarding results. Of course, to capitalize on the Df's full-frame capabilities I sold all of my previous DX lenses and started building a collection of FX lenses, which was both fun and expensive. Over the past few months I started adding a number of older Nikkor "D" series of primes and zooms -- many discontinued and some dating back to the early 1990's -- with mainly metal casings that are generally built sturdier than Nikon's current "G" lens series. For me, the results have been exceptionally pleasing, and the passion I once had for photography when I was a college student in the 1970's has been reignited.

Here's a pretty informative web site from Malaysia that might help you identify your camera's authenticity: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/htmls/models/htmls/rangefinder.htm

You can't go wrong buying refurbished... if you buy from a reliable source. I've bought many refurbed cameras and lenses from nikonusa.com, and never had a problem. Everything I've bought from Nikon looks as good as new... I just didn't get the gold box. I also purchased a refurbished Nikkor 24-120 f/4 from buydig.com via ebay while it was on sale for $469 (regular price new = $1,099.95; refurbed at nikonusa.com = $899.96) and it arrived in perfect condition and included the typical 90-day Nikon warranty for refurbished products.

I agree with the Nikkor 28-300mm f3.5-5.6G VR suggestion... A great walkaround lens that covers most of the bases and which I used 95% of the time on my Df (before I discovered two fixed primes, the AF-DC Nikkor 135 f2D and the Nikkor 180 f2.8 IF-ED). Buy the 28-300 refurbished on nikonusa.com for about $780, or if you can wait a few days for a Memorial Day Sale, get an additional 10% off.

Fotodiox also makes a lens filter holder for the Nikon 14-24 which increases the size and prominence of the lens but works fine, "WonderPana 145 Essentials Kit - 145mm Core Filter Holder, Lens Cap and MC-UV Filter for Select Ultra Wide Angle Lenses." See https://www.fotodioxpro.com/wonderpana-145-essentials-kit-145mm-core-filter-holder-lens-cap-and-mc-uv-filter-for-select-ultra-wide-angle-lenses.html.

I bought an "Expert Shield" lifetime guarantee screen protector from Amazon for $12.95 with free Prime delivery for my Nikon Df. The screen protector was simple to install, and easier to position and place on my Df's LCD than similar screen protectors on my iPhone and iPad, produced no bubbles, and has lasted nearly a year so far with no problems. I recommend this brand if there's one available in the right size for your camera.

I really like my Nikon SB-400 compact flash that I use on a Nikon Df. Great light in a small size. It's discontinued, but it's always available on eBay or at KEH.com for around $150-$175.

I've purchased three Nikkor lenses from KEH and recently sold them a Nikkor 135mm f2D DC. In all transactions they have been very fair and trustworthy, with excellent customer service and delivery. I recommend them very highly.
