Just kidding. But I did let her use my brand new D750 this weekend to photograph me and my two sons in the pool and she fell in love with it. So now I have to get her a 'similar' camera. So I'm viewing this as an opportunity to get a back up camera for myself that she can use (that's our little secret, UH). She thought the camera was a little large and a little heavy (which I attribute partly to the lens I currently have on it.) Other than that, any recommendations on a Nikon DSLR with APS-C sensor, 20 megapixels and up? I'll also continue to do my homework.

Thanks

George

Perhaps a D7200? Or a D610.

Yes, Chris. I had also concluded that the d7200 might be a fit. Thanks for confirming I'm on the right track.

Thanks Hal and Bob. I don't necessarily ascribe to the "Happy wife, Happy life" philosophy. But I do what I can to uphold my "Happy spouse, Happy house" rule. That way, no one is left out. #equitable :)

Suggestions: perhaps something from the 7000 series - D7000, D7100, D7200 or from the 5000 series - D5100, D5200 or D5500. Unless you want to go 'whole Hog' and gift her a D500.

Thanks, Ralph. No, let's not get crazy here. Lol. No need to break out the big guns. Pretty sure she would find the D500 too big and bulky. Not to mention, I haven't recuperated yet from the recent D750 acquisition.

All roads keep leading back to D7200.

Bite the bullet, give her the D750 & get yourself an even more super-dooper camera

Lol. Now that, my friend, is well played. What a paradigm shift.

Jim, that's quite a trade up! I repeat "Happy spouse, happy house!"

Another option is to just share your camera with your wife. I assume you don't have separate ovens, vacuum cleaners, lawnmowers, etc. Why should the camera be any different? A shared camera will result in even more quality time together.
