I shoot my Z9/100-400 combo all the time. Often with the 1.4x TC. I see no advantage to shooting in DX mode. If I’m gonna crop I’m gonna do it in post where I control the crop.

Putting a full frame camera in DX mode with an FX lens makes no sense.

...sure it does. I do it all the time out shooting birdies with the Z9/100-400 combo. Not my preference, but if circumstances dictate...<shrug> Just yesterday I had the Z2x TC on it just messing around sniping at the beach here...I have yet to process those, we'll see, but I've used it before shooting surfing and the results were really good.

On1 Resize had a feature that would easily let you do this. I used it many times creating tryptics for a local school to decorate their walls.

My guess is it's still part of their software.

...cool info! I only use ON1 for IR work, maybe I should investigate. DUH! ;0)

My bad. The noise I am referring to is the sound the motor is making when it focuses.

...aha. Surprising for a top line lens...

AT&T stopped short of laying cable here. I'd have to buy a house about an hour south of me to get fiber optic. Spectrum will charge me $80 for Internet along, but they add lots of "fees" to that. $25/month is ridiculous. It will be nice if they keep that price.

My current speed is 317.6 down and 0.2 up.

Maybe they'll surprise you one of these days, hopefully!

Unless it's something I definitely want, I don't use auto renewal.

I've been on Spectrum for a number of years, paying 100 (99.99 grrrrrrr) a month for *just* internet (I need to have some "up" speed for when I upload lots of pics). Never signed up for auto-pay. Well, a couple of weeks ago ATT showed up...we've got fiber in your area now, interested? Oh, hell yeah, how much? Well, after wrangling and getting
every edge I could (age and whatnot) I ended up with 25 bux a month! Speed? 300 down and 300 up (it's actually more). They say the price will never go up (we'll see about that, eh?) and I happily signed up for auto pay. Man, it's sweet!

Cool and Classic! I don't know if it's still in business, but we "racer" kids used to hang out at a couple of diners BITD. You know, the kind with carhops. Once in awhile the L.A. Roadster Club would cruise in (of course, "cruising" was the name of the game)...nothing but WOW. 20 or 30 of 'em and they all looked this good (well, my memory says so anyhow, lol).

1. I misunderstood what I read here and downloaded Lr CC instead of classic.

2. Was having trouble connecting to my catalog. I called adobe support and he connected remotely andd was able t correct the situation.

3. I downloaded Ps then Ps beta. Some features of the beta version worked until I tried to move a toolbar from the middle of an image I was working on, at which time a whole lot of functions became unavailable. I plan to delete the app, then re-download.

...you are going to have a freakin' blast; shoot, just switching between LR and PS effortlessly. When something goes awry (and it happens) You Tube is your friend.

Whuff said in part: "Ok, there are so many improvements to lightroom since version 6.4 that I can’t justify not going to the subscription plan but I’m confused over which one."

Will Whuff use the improvements, how much better is better? There are alternatives... sorry for not pledging allegiance to the Adoby Flag... it is not one nation indivisible like the photo school morning pledge says.

Yes, LR is the ego-trip Adobe gotta have... and is considered to be the gold standard, but there are others such as DarkTable [free], and Aftershot Pro 3 [low-cost download from eBay at Foreign Country price no subscription $12 ... yes legal]. Improvements are "patches" or addon modifications. These free open-source or low-cost programs do the job for most users and a monthly randsome is not extorted.

A comparison: "There are functional differences where Corel wins over Adobe, but also vice versa. "
https://licentie2go.com/en-nl/adobe-lightroom-vs-corel-aftershot

A comparison: "In fact, Darktable may be better than Lightroom. It has more tools and offers more precise adjustments from these tools."
https://expertphotography.com/lightroom-vs-darktable/

Remember that Kleenex is any tissue... and if a photo is modified it has been photoshopped... Photoshop has become a generic term. While PS has many tools, a Program such as Paintshop Pro Ultimate with a plugin from Topaz makes life easier with excellent results and of course, much lower cost especially if one considers several years. How much better is better?

There are many small low-cost or open-source programs that do specialty tricks that yes can be done in PS, but with great complication in processing.

Keep an open mind and shop and evaluate.

...you obviously haven't USED the software, why denigrate those who do? I've been LR since the very beginning...just in the last year or so it's improved a light year, maybe more depending on your POV. *I* don't salute the "Adobe Flag" but you better believe I USE the program(s) with gusto...it's a badass tool and I for one appreciate every update. It's not an "ego-trip Adobe gotta have" as you classify it, and thankyewverymuch for the mass put-down.<big time shrug>
